    Springtime Barley
I love barley and I wanted to make this one the minute I saw it. I really liked this. I contemplated whether it needed salt or not but it was pretty tasty so I still gave it five stars. Probably more like 4.5 but there is no such thing. :) I used red onion to make it a bit prettier.
Directions say to "stir in marjoram and pepper" while parsley is the listed ingredient. I used dried parsley. Didn't think there would be pepper with no salt, but what do I know.
I made this to use for main dishes. I felt healthy while I was eating it. :-P

I love barley as well, but have only used it in soup! That must have felt a little weird to not add S&P! :-) I'm sure she meant to say "parsley" cause I agree, never heard of using pepper without using salt:)
This is right up my alley FA, delicious looking pics:)

Thank you, Marie. I send for my quick cooking barley as the nearest place I can find it is 60 miles away. I'm lazy. :-P
I don't know if the poster would be offended or not but I tried this out on my dogs. I do not like to feed them "people food" but always try to find healthy alternatives to dog food for them. They loved this! Well, except Ginger apparently does not love asparagus. Still - they gulped it up! :-D
