Strawberry Banana Ice Cream

Recipe by chefmeow: Strawberry Banana Ice Cream
Let mother lick the scraper used to package the ice cream into freezer boxes. Made her cry for more. But she'll have to wait 'till it sets up for tonight. It's going to be a couple of degrees shy of the century mark today.
Ice Cream's the thing to do after a scorcher of a day!
Will get a pic when it sets up.

What a nice ice cream. Had my chance for a portion today. Banana makes the base nice and creamy with the strawberry a great little highlight. Seems that both fruit flavors are tasted separately. Banana flavor toward the middle of the tongue and strawberry flavor toward the perimeter.
Going to have to make more of this one.

What kind of ice cream maker do you have - electric or the good old cranking kind?

Well, P7O, many, many scientists believe that there's a reason for your tasting on different parts of tongue.... sweetness of the banana would be toward the front, of the tongue, extending towards the middle, and the acidity of the strawberries would be tasted more on the sides. :) Looks like your buds are working...

and, yes, nearly 100 with at least passable humidity...tonight, thought, it's meant to mug up as the temp drops... oh. Goody. The reminder of life in the summer in 'Bama. ;)

It's a quart size bucket electric mixer that has to spend a day in the freezer getting it's liquid in the bucket frozen. If I had to hand crank, I don't think I'd be eating any ice cream.
Not being a scientist I still knew about the tasting divisions of the tongue. Just trying to point out the two-for taste sensation that makes this ice cream delectable.
Could be why "Frenching" is popular? ;)

Looking around for a recipe to use the left over egg whites from this recipe and stumbled upon Fresh Mint Ice Cream which uses up all the whites in another interesting ice cream.

Grizzlybear posted some great recipes here. I sure miss him.
I remember hand cranking ice cream when I was a kid. Definitely a job for a kid. :)
