Strawberry-lemon Bundt Cake

This was Fantastic!! I realized last minute I didn't have the sour cream and I was looking up what to substitute, then I realized it probably wouldn't turn out as moist with a substitute, so I went to the store and got some really quick. This was very moist and I am so glad I went out to get the sour cream :) The cake by itself is sweet but not super sweet so the glaze just makes a perfect topping. I forgot to get a pic. of a cut piece darnit! I might do that in the morning and post it, it looks like Shona's though :P

OMG! That looks sooo good! Beautiful pictures! What a gorgeous glaze! I knew this recipe was going to be a hit as soon as it posted. I'm anxious to try it, but trying to hold off on the sweets until the holidays.

Lovely Photo, looks good enough to eat:)). I wonder if you could use yogurt in place of sour cream? I do not eat sweets but i like to bake and my in laws like to eat sweets.

Oh my gosh, those photos are *fabulous*, Mommyluvs2cook, and I bet the cake tastes as good as it looks! It looks like you used a tube pan to make it?? I saved the recipe, but limit my sweets, so don't know when I can make it.

That is so pretty Michelle! What lovely pictures! I have a beautiful Nordicware mini-bundt pan which would work so nicely with this recipe. Bookmarked to try for a special occasion!

That looks fantastic! I don't have a Bundt pan but I'll bet this would go into a couple of loaf pans just fine! :)

Manella, you can sub out yogurt for sour cream, not sure if it would yield the same moistness though? I didn't have that on hand when making this either. Hope you get to make this for your in laws some day!

I did use a tube pan Bakerme, that's all I have and I always sub it out for a bundt cake pan with no problems :) I need to invest in a bundt pan though, they are so much prettier than the tube pan :)

    Thanks Janet :)

Yay, so glad you liked it! Thanks for making it! Beautiful picture! Much better than my pic as the cake wasn't fully cooled when I did the glaze, lol ;)
I have made this with yogurt (balkan style, thinner than greek but heavier than regular) I didn't really notice a difference. The only thing I wouldn't use is low-fat or non-fat yogurt or sour cream.
This will work in a couple loaf pans FA. In fact, the base of this recipe is made from a lemon poppy seed loaf that we made in the Bakery. I added the strawberries and glaze to it for a cake! :)

Mommyluvs2cook, this isn't recipe related, but I'm just wondering what sp means. I see it a lot and have no idea what it means!

Oh it means "simultaneous posting" lol, or "same post" because FA and I posted at the same time and I missed her in my comment :) We use that in the ODD all the time and I didn't even think about that y'all wouldn't know the abbreviation. Well, now you do!!

Thanks for translating that, Mommyluvs2cook! I am soooo not techno savvy and don't know all of the shorthand. ;)

Manella, that's what I thought, too, because it's the abbreviation I use when I'm not sure of the spelling. I just couldn't figure out how it applied here because all of the words are spelled right - haha!
