Recipe by Chefjeb: Transfat Free Healthy Biscuits
A well risen and light biscuit. Recipe says it serves 16 but I only got 6 biscuits out of it. Even if I tamped the dough out a little thinner or used a smaller biscuit cutter, that would only be a dozen biscuits. There's going to be a fight at the breakfast table! Maybe it's just a slip of the finger.
Baked them to time and they were done inside but I could have left them in the oven for a little more browning.

Those look so good, pso. I need to make some biscuits. I've never made them from scratch before. Just the Bisquick kind.

Yummy looking pic Points! Nice to know these are light and fluffy too. The recipe seems like it would be ample enough to make at least 12? So would you just double the recipe?

Think I patted the dough down to a little more than a half an inch. Picture is biscuits on a regulation size plate.
So roll out, or pat, the dough to a half an inch AND use smaller than a 3.5 inch biscuit cutter. You should get a dozen. I liked the bigger biscuits.

Thanks Points, sounds like bottom line you would make them again? I have a few bookmarked but it is nice to have a test kitchen here.:-) Looking for a good bread one for my almost first loaf of bread. I now have a stand mixer with a hook and not sure which bread to try first? Any suggestions would help a great deal on a standard white loaf recipe to start. Getting fed up with cheap store bought bread they seem to be taking things out of it?

Chefjeb always puts out a good recipe.
You'll have to wend your way down the stand mixer lane without me. I do it by hand or a food processor. Most all the basic white bread recipes I've seen here on GR are basically the same, so much they could be clones.
Take a walk over to the "baking 911" site and read 'till yer ears fall off.
