I had the ingredients for the meatballs from one recipe and the sauce ingredients for another recipe and combined them together. Sauce Baked Meatballs posted by Doreenfish and Wes's Meatballs posted by our missed Pleclare.
    Sauce Baked Meatballs
    Wess Meatballs
I didn't have fresh parsley (why don't I ever buy that stuff?) so I had to leave that out of the meatballs. The sauce was fantastic! I served the meatballs over rice as suggested by Doreenfish. Very filling and delicious. I didn't post my picture on the recipes as it was a combo thing but I'm putting it here.

Those look really good, Frankie. I like the sound of that sauce. Ive yet to make meatballs. From scratch, that is. I need to. They make such great sandwiches. Pleclare sure posted some good recipes. Thanks for the heads up

Thanks, Mr. P. The sauce is very interesting - kind of a bbq-y (from the liquid smoke) sweet thing going on. Its really good!

Hi Frankieanne...how did you cook the meatballs? I guess since your pic shows them lined up in a baking dish, you must have baked the uncooked meatballs in the sauce? Seems that I have always baked the meatballs first and then simmered in the sauce because I was afraid that I would end up with too much grease in the sauce...was that a problem for you?

I had very, very lean ground beef, gkw. I'm always afraid of that, too, so I made sure it was super lean. I cooked them with the sauce at 350F for one hour covered with foil. Let them cool and then took them out of the pan and stored them in another bowl.
Nice to see you again, by the way! :)

What I want to know is if you gave any meatballs to that little guy to cheer him up after putting him though that????? And did he like them? He looks like he might be picky. He's even got a little white beard going = )

Sammy cheered up right after he got the Santa suit off, Mr. P. And - yes - he got a meatball. We are still eating them! Whew, they lasted a long time! We will eat up the last four today. :)
