Vegan Mayonnaise Substitute

Recipe by Jo_jo_ba: Vegan Mayonnaise Substitute/saved
Found this recipe with an ingredient search for silken tofu. I had half a pound to use up.
This recipe needs to be doubled or use a smaller food processor, as there is not enough ingredients for a standard size food processor.
It's a little dull on the flavoring for me. Maybe more lemon juice to give it a little more snap.
It definitely had a yeasty flavor.

Interesting recipe! Never worked with nutritional yeast, but I have thought about buying it a few times for a couple of recipes I had come by using it.

Nutritional yeast is pretty nifty. It has a cheesy taste to it. Besides recipes, I sprinkle it where cheese is called for and on baked potatoes or rice and the like.

I have never heard of a vegan mayonnaise substitute. Interesting. Does it compare to mayonnaise or does it stand alone?
I've never tried nutritional yeast although I have heard of it.
You have been working with tofu a lot lately. Is it cheaper than meat or whatever it is the substitution for in a recipe? I don't even have any idea how much it costs.

It's $2 to $3 per pound. I haven't done the math on the substitutions.
It has a dull taste just like mayo. I prefer Miracle Whip salad dressing over mayo.

OK, that's way cheaper than meat. I bought pound of lean hamburger the other day and it was $6.99 a pound! I almost didn't buy it.

I think you either are a Miracle Whip person or a mayonnaise person. I'm a mayonnaise person. :)

I'm trying to train myself to like mayo just because it's half the price.
