Zoe's Honey And Oat Bread Bread

  • mrpiggy 11 years ago
Made this this morning. Came out very good. Its a heavier/dense bread. Had a couple slices plain, one with butter and one with butter and some honey. I've come to the conclusion that I like fresh bread : ) However I think Im going to have to buy someone a new bag of flour. I sponged a new bag Friday with the intent to use a little and now its half gone. Now I want to try a loaf with some almonds or sunflower seeds. Thanks Zoe for a great recipe

Side note: This cut very easily, Ponits : )

    Now that's a bread knife! :)
That's a good looking loaf of bread, MrP. Sounds like you've found yourself a new hobby.

Ok all you saw marks on the bread people. That's my pic on the recipe and you don't see a saw mark one! Used a standard serrated bread knife.
Glad your breads are turning out well MrP.

Neat recipe. I've never made a bread and put oats in it before. Bookmarked it to try.
ROFL at the new bread 'knife' MrP. Love it!

I dont know why I get those saw marks. My knife is very sharp and has only been used for these 2 loaves. Even when I cut cold they are there. Maybe I should push down and cut deeper with each stroke? And thanks for the info on dry milk, Points. Im going to check out King Author

I wouldnt call it a hobby, really. Heck, its sooo quick with the machine and I dont even have to watch or check it. It takes longer getting the ingredients on hand. Cept for the flour : )

Chuckie, I like the oat and honey flavor. I actually taste it more cold. The bread it great "sawed" cold and plain : )
