Well...I recently realized that I don't like crunchy things in my meatloaf!

And I prefer a meatloaf with a nice dark outer crust to the meat!

I think I like a brown gravy with it, as opposed to a ketchup type sauce.

Wow! I guess I have a lot of rules about meatloaf!!!

This was a good question NYM!

Glad you found the group. I was researching meatloaf one day and found there was no grouping for meatloaf by Kris or any one else, so here it is. Think you'll be hard pressed to find a meatloaf recipe that hasn't already been included in this group, unless it is a new recipe.

Happy hunting and definitely saute the veggies.

Wow there is lots of variations here!

I dont like crunchy inside very much either-I have to saute my onions before I put them in. Meatloaf is one of the best comfort foods there is!

Love meatloaf, but not with a ketchupy sauce...ugh...(not a big ketchup fan, anyway).

I always make meatloaf in the microwave. It gets so brown, and the edges get crunchy, and it's done in a bout 20 minutes! I never saute the onions first, and they are never crunchy...guess it depends on how you chop them...I chop mine pretty small. I did try adding chopped celery and red peppers once, and they stayed crunchy, I would definately saute them first next time!
