Welcoming a new neighbor

We have a new neighbor and I am planning on taking them a covered dish, I will let you know tomorrow what I take and how it went.

Well I almost forgot to tell you guys what I took. I just ended up taking a cake. I made my Preacher's cake and made a new friend. Her name is Susan and her and her husband have 3 little kids. She said they were all big coconut lovers and that they would really love the cake. I told her about GR and she said they were planning on getting a new computer and as soon as they did she would join.

I'm like that, too. Any time I'm talking to other people about food I always try to get them to come check this place out..whether it be at the grocery store, waiting rooms...

My town has a welcoming committee that comes around with a huge gift basket and a flower arrangement. In the basket were gift certificates to several businesses in town along with baked goods . My neighbors came over while we were unpacking with Cakes cookies and even casseroles and a meat loaf WE were given a list of all the neighbors names and phone numbers in case of an emergency. I thought I was in the movie Stepford Wives, I was not use to that type of friendship, having come from a three decker neighborhood ware you watched your back this was a big and welcome change.

I think it is a great idea to bring over food, and introduce yourself.
