Foo Yung Friday!

    Good Morning Everyone!
Ya.....the Egg Foo Yung didn't happen yesterday. Jim went to his Dentist's appointment to get the crown put on but the crown that was sent didn't fit properly so he had to get the needles and go through over an hour of fiddling (again) to have the Dentist apologize and say that he was going to send the crown back to be refitted as it wasn't done properly. Poor Jim. I felt really bad for him. So now he has ANOTHER appointment in two weeks to try for the third time.
While he was there I did a small Costco run and then got my skates sharpened. :) By the time Jim was done it was about 2:45 and we hadn't had lunch so we decided to go to the "Lone Star" for Fajitas. And of course you can't get out of the Lone Star without being full to the gills so we weren't hungry at all for dinner. Around 9 p.m. I warmed us up some soup. So....Foo Yung for dinner this evening. :)
Main job today is a major house cleaning. Having friends over for dinner tomorrow night so need to get the place tip top.
So glad you checked in yesterday Tina. Sorry to hear you fell. Could be a medication problem? Watch that! Glad to hear that Fred's Celebration turned out great. I knew it would. You are bound to be in a 'blur' for a while. Don't sweat it. One day at a time. Gentle hugs.
So glad to hear Rick's Dad is a lot better Marie. That's great news!
No Michelle, ramen noodles are not in traditional Egg Foo Yung but whatever floats one's boat I say! :) How did Bri make out at the Optometrist?
Karen, the "Heritage" stove is lovely. It says it heats up to 1900 square feet so that's pretty awesome!
Heading down to the treadmill again. Ugh. Glad it's Friday and then we take the weekend off. :)
If anyone has any spare Cleaning Fairies about please send them my way......
    Wishing everyone a great day!

Morning Janet! Poor Jim! Oh I would be so irritated, one visit to the dentist is bad enough, much less 3!! At least y'all got a good lunch/dinner out of it, yum on the fajitas :) Enjoy your Foo Yung tonight!

Glad you dropped in last night Tina. Take care and hopefully all this confusion will soon pass.

Briauna's eyes got quite a bit worse considering her last eye appt. was less than a year ago...the doctor was very surprised. So we have her new glasses ordered and she will be able to see in about 5 days! She wants contacts, but I told her we will talk about it and maybe next year we will look more into it. It's a big responsibility having contacts, and I'm not sure she's ready for it. I told her if she keeps her room clean that may help my decision more :P BUSY evening ahead. We have play practice, and I'm pretty sure we have a Girl Scout meeting, although, like always, I haven't heard anything about it yet. I'm thinking I need to throw something in the crock pot, so I should probably pull something out of the freezer soon! Have a great day everyone!

Poor Jim, Janet. What an ordeal he went through yesterday at the dentist! I would be more than a little upset, if I were him! Glad you went to the Lone Star and at least had a good lunch, even though it was late. Good luck with cleaning the house today.

Tina, Good to hear Fred's memorial service went so well. I thought the same thing as Janet. Could it be your medication causing you to be in a blur?
Please do take care of yourself. HUGS)))

Karen, Your new fireplace/stove is lovely and should keep you warm and toasty.

Michelle, I would worry a bit about Bri getting contacts at her age too! Maybe when she is older she could get the same surgery you had done on her as well? A good idea to use the crock pot today considering you will be so busy again tonight.

Den is having his normal rib eye steak and oven fries and I might pull my last lobster out of the freezer and make lobster rolls for myself for dinner or something like that. Whatever I make will be easy peasy for me. I am not sure I will be able to make something for Keni Day yet? My chest has been giving me quite a bit of grief lately.

    Happy TGIF everyone!

    Hi all:)

We've been having some issues with out internet/phones..it works fine then it doesn't..I'm going to call a tech (I have his mobile # from the last time we had issues, he lives here locally and knows his stuff) the guy from yesterday was the phone tech, the guy I'm going to call is the DSL tech..oy vey

Janet, oh dear on Jim's dental appt! I do hope they get the crown to fit properly! I had one put on last year and didn't have any problems after they made sure of the fit..Yum on Foo Yung..love the stuff:)

Michelle, I don't think I could handle contacts! Hope all goes well with Bri..do you think you'll "give in" as far as contacts go? if she doesn't care for them, will she have a pair of back up glasses to wear? Have fun at Girl scouts:) I really miss GS:(

Joce, feel better my dear...Lobster rolls sound so good:)

Tina, I'm so sorry you fell! Do check to see if your meds are causing your blurriness. Fred's memorial sounded lovely..a great tribute. take care dear lady..

Rick's installing 2 doors & openers today..up here in Paradise..I have a deposit to make, a trip to Chico to see Mom & Dad, then I'll come back and try calling the internet tech.

Not sure about dinner..maybe burritos? Something easy for a busy Friday:)

Have a most lovely day everyone:)

Joce if you can't make anything Sunday, seriously don't worry about it! Everyone completely understands :) Lobster rolls sound fantastic for dinner, I want one!

I really hope you can get your internet/phone complications figured out Marie. I hate when our stuff goes down, I feel helpless! Burritos sound yummy :)

We would definitely have Briauna put contacts in at the doctors office to even see if she's able to do it. Contacts were super easy for me, but I know some people would have problems with them. The doctor also gave us an option which I really like. She said they make these contacts that you only wear one day then throw away, and you don't even have to worry about having a case and solution. The main reason Briauna wants contacts is because she can't wear her glasses in dance and gym because they slide down her face. Now she is about to start softball, so there is another sport she probably can't wear them!

Bummer on your internet and phone problems, Marie:( Very frustrating indeed!

I know myself I wouldn't be able to put contacts in. LOL I can't even put eye drops in correctly. Ya the throw away contacts would be better for Bri. Poor kid not being able to wear her glasses in gym or in dance class:(

Glad that you got Bri some new glasses Michelle. I'd be tempted to wait until she was a little older to get contacts as well as like you say, they are a big responsibility and you really have to take good care of them. Those one day ones do sound interesting though. Is it more expensive than glasses? Good luck with your busy evening.
Sorry to hear your chest has been giving you grief Joce. Both those dinners sound wonderful.
Ugh on the phone/Internet issues Marie. So frustrating! Sounds like both you and Rick are busy as usual. Have a good visit with your parents.
Jim helped me with the house cleaning so we're all done. Hurray! Big job! It really needed it. So now.....it's TGIF!

I would not be happy with having to sit in the dentist chair for nothing! Ugh
I cancelled or post poned the girls party til Feb 7th. Frank is sick, we are getting a snow storm and I also cancelled the cleaners I had coming too. I feel like I may be getting something. I feel ok but my chest hurts to breath in and I have that yucky sick taste in my mouth.
Made chicken soup for dinner last night so frank had that today when he stayed home from work. I'm just glad it's the weekend. The girls and I went out for sushi -Becca had chinese food and brought leftovers for Frank. We sat at the sushi bar and the chef made a special plate for us as an appy. Who knows what it was lol but the waitress came over and asked if we liked spicy. It was on a bed of lettuce and seemed like crab or pollock shredded into a mayo based salad with cucumbers and other things all shredded . Yummy
Now just relaxing. Becca is going ice skating. A first for her lol. She says she is using the crate. But I think they only let the little kids use the crate :)

I never knew Keni, but her recipes do seem really good.

Janet, the cleaning fairy ran amuck and had to be outlawed from ever returning to my neighborhood on penalty of having her wings clipped. Bad fairy! Now I have to clean the house by myself. Grr!

Tina, I agree on the rest - meds can do bad things, esp. if they are combined.

I could never wear contacts. It is hard enough to put drops in. Also, I recall hearing that the contacts on one brand are the same for disposable and regular -- just boxed differently. One more attempt to get it over on the consumer, I guess. LOL. I agree it is probably better to wait for Briauna to have contacts. They are expensive to lose and have to replace. There are little gizmos you can get to hold glasses on firmly, if she will agree to wear one.

Hope all of you who are not feeling well, feel better soon. See you later.

The meatballs will be subs later. The cubans will be soaked in egg batter for savory bread pudding. The queso is an enigma. What an I to do with an enormous bag of raw veggies?
