Friday, so soon?

  • notyourmomma 8 years ago
I was reading the Thursday thread and getting ready to answer and then heard it is Friday on the news.

Hope you are felling well, today Janet. I'm sure talking will be odd.for awhile. Take it easy.

Love the new kitty, Karen. How sweet.

Michelle, did you make it to bunco? I have never played but heard it is fun.

Nice haul at the store, Joce. Nice to be stocked up in the freeze.

Have a good Friday. Take care my friends.

Good Morning Tina! Great pictures. Is the first one oysters? Nice pic of Fred and of the giant shrimp! :) Love the Group avatar. It looks very springish.
Oh my goodness on the little charcoal kitten Karen. I can't wait to see a picture. I would LOVE to have another cat or even better yet a puppy but I kind of doubt that will happen. JIm's not a pet fan and it is hard to travel when you have pets and hardwood floors and dogs aren't a great mix either. There is nothing like a baby kitten dozing on your lap to warm one's heart.
Joce, you gave me multiple good giggles with the name "BBQ" for a Charcoal cat. I LOVE it! :)
We didn't get any frost yesterday but it did dip down. Looks beautiful out there right now. Jim has gone to mow some grass for the first time this season. We have five geese that are spending the day here. They're not nesting so it's a bit weird as I'm not sure what they're up to but they are the most pretty lawn ornaments despite the amazing amount of 'doo' that they are putting out. Jim's going to have to wear rubber boots. :) Your Spaghetti last night sounds great . I'm going to have to put that on my short list. I think I could manage that as a soft food and I've been craving it for a while.
Michelle how are you feeling today? Any clue what was causing it? I've never heard of Bunco before. I googled it and it does sound like a lot of fun. "100% luck and No skill" sounds right up my alley! Wikipedia says that the game originated in San Francisco. And that in 2005 over 59 million women had played Bunco and over 27 million play regularly. It must be quite the game to have such a following. Why is it mainly women who play it I wonder?
Michelle B. I just LOVED your recent FB pictures. Those blow holes are very very cool. How is the cooking coming along? Any new ingredients? How's the meat situation? :)
Shona, how are things in your household this week?
Marie...we haven't heard from you in forever. Hope all is well.
    Laurie?
My surgery went well yesterday. I was at the hospital at 8:45 a.m. and got discharged at 1:30. I'm in no pain whatsoever. The drugs are totally keeping it at bay. This prothesis palate thing is a PIA but no matter. I had Campbell's chicken noodle soup for lunch yesterday and Kraft Dinner for dinner. Poached egg on toast with a bit of ham for brekkie. I'm jotting down a list of softer foods I can eat. Supposed to be on soft foods for 5-7 days.
    I'm going to make Jim
    Chicken Bake Samm
for dinner. It's possible I could have some too if I cut it up properly. My speech sounds hilarious as it sounds like I have a mouth full of marbles. My Mom sent me a Get Well card which I received yesterday and also ordered me some flowers from my girlfriend's shop which Jim is going to pick up for me after lunch. Very sweet.
I'm supposed to be 'sedentary' (LOLOL what a word) for 72 hours and then take it easy for a few more days but after a week I can pretty much resume most things. I have some books to read and can watch some Food TV.
    Wishing everyone a great day.

yes, those are oysters in the picture with spinach and cheese broiled as a topper.

Glad that you are not in pain. Lovely that your mom ordered flowers. Any more geese, Jim will need hip waders.

The pics on FB are cool. The video out of the office is pretty cool, too. Michelle, what a great adventure.

I hope all is well with Marie. .

I know Bunco Parties were very popular, but 27 million regular players?? WOW

My chest hurts a lot today. I just want to suck air from my cpap. I think there is something wrong with the pool. I don't see the auto cleaner circulating. HMMMMM.

Hi all!! I did make it to bunco Tina :) Great pics...those oysters look fantastic and what a good pic. of Fred! Hope your chest pains go away soon :(

Cool on the geese hanging out with you today Janet :) Lol at the “doo” I had too giggle! That's neat info on bunco...I had no idea so many women play it, although my Mom played it when I was young. When I got in my teens they started letting me sub in for anyone who couldn't make it. They played it a bit differently than the one I subbed in last night, but it's all basically the same...rolling dice :) and yes, it's pure luck. Not sure why it's only played by women, maybe it started as women trying to find an excuse to get away from their kids and husbands for a few hours? Lol! So glad your not in any pain, although it does sound annoying. I bookmarked Chicken Bake Samm it looks so easy and yummy! That was so sweet of your mom to send flowers and a card :) Sounds like you have a lot of relaxing ahead of you!

Made a Sam's trip today and of course my list consisted of 3 items and I left spending $140! It is stuff that we needed and I just didn't know it yet though :P Its looking a bit gray outside and Caiden want's to swim, but I don't want to go through all the work of getting the pool blown up and filled if it is just going to thunder and rain. I will hold off until more this afternoon to see if it passes. May put the pool in the front yard and see if the neighbors want to come swim too. Pulled out a 6lb. package of spareribs for dinner that I had gotten on sale for $5.89! Think I'm going to make up a dry rub or maybe a BBQ sauce and then grill them low and slow for a few hours. Will probably do some asparagus and a salad on the side. Have a great day everyone!!

Glad you are feeling good, Janet. Tell Jim you MUST have a hot fudge Sundae to bulk up the carbs to fight off any infection......then look woeful, and it might just work LOL.
Boo on the pool problems...Tina. Didn't you just have it cleaned?

I went to post this A.M. But forgot it was mid month payday. Higher threat elevation so can't park within zillion feet, and one side lot was closed for a tent sale. I gave up and picled up kitten chow and electrical tape from PX, which was crowded but not inaccesible. Told the guys good luck on lunch, fixed tuna pasta salad / or macaroni salad with tuna and veggies, whatever you want to call it. Tuna--macaroni--mayo--carrots--celery--peas --and spices.

I have decided I must find a name for this kitten, may wait until Saturday when we look at another one so they will not be lonely when we install them in the barn. Meanwhile, I am stocking up on paper towels and spray cleaner and kitty litter / kitten chow the next trip to the commissary....Little beast gallops in the shower and tracks water everywhere. She did use the litter box but I am not sure the idea is firmly entrenched. Wayne's buddy brought her into the sun room and she was a riot. When picked her up and she closed her eyes, two grown men complained they wanted to see her play, so I put her down to serve as entertainment for the day. I got her a wiggle worm toy but it scared her so she will keep away...will be better in time. Have to look for a soft cuddle toy.

We are going to WalMart this afternoon to get the clumping litter Trouble is used to . Yes, Trouble is her name. It fits as she chews and claws and attacks anything that moves. I think the litter box problem will be solved with new litter, getting used to her kitten chow, and accustomed to her new digs. A.C. proved untrustworthy as he glared at her.

    SP Michelle.

Pizza tonight, taking advantage of Papa John's promo. When the Rays score six runs in their baseball game, you get half off the pizza order next day. Cool. 2 large for $14.00.
I'm freezing one and will share the rest with Olivia. Not as fancy as her dinner treat. But when you are hungry, it'll do.

So Trouble showed her true colors and got her name!! Ha Ha.

I did like Joces' suggestion of BBQ, too.

The pool motor is burnt out. I need a new motor asap. Bummer.

The flowers Mom sent me are GORGEOUS! Am very tickled and feeling spoiled! Hope your chest feels better Tina. Did you get things worked out with your Insurance yet?
I've been making that Chicken Bake Samm recipe every since Jim and I were first married and it's still a standy by Michelle. Very easy and very flavourful. I'm generous with the sprinkling of the herbs. :) Hope your rain held off and Caiden got his swim in. :) What a great price you got on the ribs. Wow! I WANT YOUR DINNER!
Jim would have totally got me a Hot Fudge Sundae if I'd requested one Karen but I'm afraid the girth of my tummy would not appreciate it. I need to shed a fair amount of pounds this summer. Hanging around inside all winter didn't do me any favours! :) (Hot Fudge Sundaes are one of my childhood faves from Dairy Queen too!) :) Welcome Trouble. :) Makes me think of that saying my mom used to say "Never trouble trouble till trouble troubles you". :)
I'd love some pizza Tina. I've been craving some for months now but Jim isn't into it as much as me. :) That's a great price for sure. Ugh on the pool motor.
Chicken and baked potatoes are in the oven and Jim picked up an Edamame salad for the Grocery store deli that he fancies as well. I took out some chicken Mulligatawny soup from the freezer for myself although I may try a bit of the chicken and potatoes and see how it goes. Watched "Paddington" on Pay-per-view this afternoon. I loved the book as a child so was curious to see the movie. It wasn't like the book but it was cute. :)

    Hello
Went to sushi dinner with my sister, her girlfriend and Rachel. The place is called Maki Maki. It's all you can eat but not buffet style. You order from the menu. We ate a lot of sushi! Waitress was super fun and had some suggestions. I figure might as well try stuff when you have the chance. We had some tempura style and too many things to remember

Back from WalMart Trouble wanted out but she can not be safely around A.C. Unsupervised. He goes from watching to gearing up for a fight in a half second. Wayne's buddy was between the two in a heartbeat when A.C. changed his mindset. Some adult cats never get so you can trust them around kittens. He is probably one, or else he dislikes female cats.

    Sushi sounds good, Laurie!

Too bad about the hot fudge Sundae, Janet.Sigh. I am supposed to stay away from all sugar so they are a no no for me, also.

Cool on the half price pizzas, Tina!
