Hey it's Sunday!

Morning everyone! I could not think of a clever Sunday title.
Going to grocery shop today which will be a nightmare since they are calling for more snow tomorrow .
I'm thinking chicken cutlets for dinner. We haven't had those in a while.
Below is my new car! I pick it up tomorrow.

Good Morning Laurie! Your new car is very sharp! Congratulations! Fantastically low mileage! So does this mean Rachel is allowed to drive this one? :) How much snow are they calling for? Good luck on shopping. Chicken cutlets sound yummy. I saw on your Facebook page that Wilmington High School has smart boards in all the classrooms. I googled it as I'm not familiar with those but I'm still a little vague as to what they do. As a student can you download what's on the smart board to your computer instead of taking notes?
Hope you didn't get any fire calls Karen. Too bad church was cancelled but it's best to stay safe as the roads you were describing sounded bad!
Our guests had a great time yesterday and managed to skate, snowshoe and hot tub and then enjoyed their food inside as well as the fire. Their daughter who's 11 walked into the dining room where the table was set and the candles were going, drew in her breath and said "Ooooooo how pretty". That made my day. :) And the kids did enjoy the Chicken Parmigiana so that was a good route to go.
No idea what today holds. It's going to go up to -4C/24F this afternoon so it'll be lovely out. Some snow is forecast but nothing serious. Jim's been staying up late as our Hockey Team has been playing in California and the games don't start 'til 10/10:30 so he's still in bed. We won them all though so that was worth staying up for! :)
Wishing everyone a great day! And Happy First of March! :)

Very pretty! The 4WD will come in handy in bad weather! Is it a program car - they are so nice, usually miles are in the 30,000 range when companies trade them in for "newer models." Did you trade in the mini van or keep it for Becca to drive? I'm not familiar with Verano - will Google it.

When I was working anyone who bought a different vehicle had to show it off for the rest of us. It was so funny.

    See you later.

Nice new ride Laurie. I hope you survive the grocery store.
I have to shop myself today and I am completely dreading it.

Karen, sorry that chuch was cancelled. I agree with Janet thar safety in icy conditions would be a concern. My ister used to lease her cars and I could never keep yp with what she drove,

Janet, you are the hostess with the mostest. What a lovely compliment from the young one. So glad you had a lovely day. Staying up that late for a game would necessitate a long nap.

Tom Kai Gai soup, seaweed salad and frozen egg rolls. I'm so happy that I froze all those single servings of soup, it has been my diet. Today I'm making it from scratch, the seaweed is Olivia's leftovers and the egg rolls are leftover from New Year's with Fred.

I need coffee and I'm starving. Later dear ones, I'm still out of sorts. I've yelled at the dogs and I don't do that.

    SP Janet!

No fire calls last night. May it stay that way. We have a bit over 4 inches on the ground. Daughter has more. Roads are snow covered. We listened to John Hagee on TV - not the same as going to church services but he is interesting.

Time for breakfast as soon as Wayne is back from feeding the horses. He is giving them extra hay / rations in this weather. Glad your dinner went over well. It must have really impressed the little girl - kids can be so funny with their say-what-they-are-thinking comments.

The generator is installed and working. We didn't notice when it took over, it is so quiet. So at least if the weather deteriorates and power goes out we will have a few weeks of power available.

Have to go. Lots to do. See your later.

We traded in the mini van. The thing that sold us was the warrenty it still had a lot of the original warrenty and the they added another 12 month warranty with the "certified" status. The last day of the month on a month where we have gotten over 100 inches of snow is a great time to buy lol. We got a great deal. I really don't know much about cars I leave that to Frank but I drove it and it was a really nice ride. Has the back up camera which is pretty cool.

What's a program car Karen? That's excellent that the generator is so quiet. When our neighbour across the road (and it's a ways!) starts his up we can hear it when we're outside.
Love your dinner for this evening Tina. You know I'd travel the ends of the earth for a good Tom Kha Gai soup :) Sending you the Happy Fairy to bonk the Out of Sorts Fairy in the nose. :) Giggle.
Cool on the back up camera Laurie. Shaking head at 100 inches of snow. Wow!

    Good morning:)

Nice car Laurie..I like Buick's, I worked at a Buick Dealership years ago, they are great cars!

Janet Your chicken parm was a good choice for your company..I love the stuff!

Karen, how nice on the generator!

Tina, your dinner does sound delish..I need to do a little shopping as well later..we're going to check out a curtain door job in Paradise, then to Chico for a spring job...my Sunday turned out a bit differently that I was hoping! Have a good day my dear, always thinking of you:)

    Grilled burgers for dinner.

    Hi Joce, Hi Michelle:)

    Gotta run!

Janet, a program car was owned by a corporation who loaned it to their executives, visiting bigwigs, etc. After a year or so, they trade it off for another one. I have seen Jeep Liberties, Lincoln Town Cars, etc. offered as program cars, depending I suppose on the location and type of business which owned them. Normally they are low mileage, in good shape, and still have some warranty.

Hi Tina. I will have to Google Tom Kha Gai soup but egg rolls and seaweed salad sound fantastic with it. SP is alive and well!

We are probably going to have pork steaks for dinner. I had grits with cheese and an egg in it this morning. Very good. Also bacon. Wayne hates grits - he had eggs, bacon, hash browns. Dinner may be at noonish or later. Probably in the evening because Wayne has to fix fences - horses knocked down the top wire.

Hi Marie! What's a curtain door job? Yummers on grilled burgers. With it going to be so mild this afternoon I'm seriously contemplating BBQ'ing something. I also have a craving for Lori's
Mesquite Grilled Chicken In White Barbeque Sauce
and wouldn't potato salad go nicely with that! (Dreaming of summer)
Neat on the program car Karen. I'd never heard that expression before. Pork steaks sound great. I've never had grits before so to error on the side of safety I'll go with Wayne's hash browns. :)

Very nice car indeed, Laurie! Excellent you got such a good deal on it too! Good luck grocery shopping and hoping you can avoid some of the crowds.

LOL Janet, You are asking quite a few questions today:) It is good you know:) Very cool compliment from the little girl. I just know they all had a very good time. You are the Hostess With The Mostest! LOL @ The Happy Fairy bonking out The Out of Sorts Fairy in the nose:)

Nice to know your generator is all installed now and ready for any power outage and that is is so quiet. YUM! I would love some grits right now. Den doesn't care for them either. I make them sometimes during the week when he isn't here.

Tina, It is a good thing you froze all those soups so you can just take them out of the freezer and voila heat it up and it is done. Enjoy your coffee and breakfast.

Marie, Gee you guys are really busy again today! Hopefully you will get all those things done early and can enjoy the rest of the day relaxing a bit.

We are having a pot roast tonight with mashed tators and gravy vegetables. Den is doing laundry and that is about it.

Hi all!! Love the new car Laurie!

Sounds like y'all had a fantastic time yesterday Janet! Your a great hostess :) Glad the kids liked the chicken parmagiana. I figured they would! Go ahead and pull out that grill, that chicken is so delish!

Hi Karen! I've never heard of a program car either! Cool! I like grits, but Michael is gaga over them. Your dinner sounds yum!

That is good that you froze all those soups Tina! I hope your head straightens out soon :(

Hi busy Marie :) Darn on not getting Sunday off! Enjoy your grilled burgers tonight!!

Pot roast sounds perfect for a Sunday Joce!

Yesterday was fun!! Caiden's T-ball went well, Bri's tournament got cut short for some reason. They won their 9:00 warm up game, but lost their 1:45 game and they were supposed to play 2 more but didn't for some reason. Regardless they got to make it to the family fondue party, yay! They were supposed to be back in Galveston this morning for more games but it got rained out. Not sure what they are going to do since we payed $20 for this.

The fondue party was so much fun and everything was DELICIOUS!! The spinach artichoke cheese dip I made was a hit, I served broccoli, colorful bell pepper strips, baby carrots, and cubed up focaccia bread with it. My MIL made this Mojo Broth
    http://theculinaryqueenbee.blogspot.com/2011/02/easy-fondue-recipes.html
and we dipped chicken, beef, shrimp and pork into it, and every once in a while would throw a handful of zucchini and mushrooms in then scoop them out and everyone would just take a spoon full. My SIL did the chocolate fondue. She made an AMAZING pound cake to go with it that she cubed up. Also had marshmallows, pineapple, and strawberries. It was all just so good! We drew our next theme and it's Seafood! Got home pretty late.

Lazy day today, we have NOTHING going on, YAY!! Don't even have to cook dinner, we have a ton of leftovers! Hope everyone enjoys the day :)

I don't know if you would call it a program car, but sort of. It was a rental car from Enterprise according to the CarFax sheet.

I'm not sure exactly what a smart board is because they didn't have them when I was substitute teaching, but it's a new technology that replaces the blackboard. There was a big huff and a petition because the brand new high school opened Tuesday and all the classrooms have them EXCEPT the two special needs classrooms. But now I am hearing that the person stirring the drama and started the petition to get them into those classrooms may have been misinformed or just starting aomething because she wasn't from Wilmington?
I survived shopping but I had to hunt for a parking space!

I'm going with laziness and just going to do Chicken Parm leftovers for dinner. It's supposed to be quite warm the next few days so perhaps the Mesquite chicken for tomorrow.
Weird on why Bri's games didn't continue on MIchelle? Glad everyone made it to the Fondue though as it sounds AH-MAZING! I saw that Mojo Broth on Pinterest too. I was a tad leery of it because of the orange and lime juice. (We with our no sweet with our meat preferences) :)

Cool on the smart boards Laurie. Hope they get the drama figured out!

The broth was not sweet at all Janet and it doesn't taste too orangey or limey...just delicious! The aroma of the broth was so good and we were even dipping bread cubes in it as it was simmering away on the stove :)

Wow on the mojo broth that would be my must try. I marinate in mojo and then grill chicken. I certainly could see how it would work with fondue. What a fun party. I haven't made one at home in so long. Olivia loves fondue. How smart to have each guest bring a style of fondue. I think I did, cheese, broth and chocolate by myself and it was a ton of work. Now seafood theme should be fun, I'd be hard pressed to choose my favorite seafood.

I have a freezer pack of 12 thighs that I should defrost and cook. Maybe mojo?

Haha, I had grits and eggs with some turkey bacon. I love grits. Janet have you tried polenta? It is the Italian version of the same thing. Shrimp and grits is a delicious dish.

Marie, sorry you had to work today. So busy....feast or famine in small business, right?

Hello Joce, how are you feeling?

I love Tom Kai Gai......more lemon grass, ginger and mushrooms the better. Try it, Karen.

I have a gift card to Outback, when I think I can chew steak, I need to get a steak. Maybe that is why I'm grumpy? The borscht had beef in it but not nearly as satisfying as a real piece if red meat. Maybe I should start with grilled burgers. Eating salads have been difficult unless they are chopped to smithereens.

Washing dog beds, the house smells like a kennel. I think I yelled at the dogs because they have been my shadows and I've almost tripped and fallen several times. Sixteen furry feet at my feet all the time, I think they sense the melancholy and miss Fred too.

No, haven't had polenta either. Grilled burgers sound like the ticket tina. Of course the dogs miss Fred too. Gentle hugs.
Jim and I went for another snowshoe. It's very warm out......compared with the rest of our winter thus far. :) Jim's going out to fix some ruts on the pond. I'm sleepy. :)

Guess it is grits Sunday today. Gee, I started something - ha ha. Love grits!

Ugh on the doggies tripping you up, Tina. They are probably in guard dog mode.

When my Mom died, Dad's cat became very clingy. It got so that Dad had to tell his cat he would be back, and I swear the cat understood what he said, because then he was fine until Dad returned. My sister took the cat when he went into an assisted care facility - he died a few months after my Dad.

Laurie, it sounds like a program car, only for a rental agency. Same thing. It makes for a good buy on a newer vehicle. We had one - the Town Car - Wayne loved it.

Hi Joce - Marie - Michelle - Janet - everyone.

We just got back from a fire call - ambulance assist. The ambulance couldn't get up the lane so the patient had to ride in the back of our pickup to the end of the lane where the ambulance was staged.

The powers that be even plowed the highway but it is slushy and will refreeze tonight. Hope we don't need to go anywhere until Tuesday - high of 60 expected then. And possible flooding and thunderstorms. Aargh!

Trader joes has this polenta log. I like to slice, put a fresh basil leaf on, a garden tomato slice and some shredded romano/parm cheese spray with olive oil and bake. Delish! No name for the recipe and I never posted it I should. So lazy! Lol

Glad the fire call went well Karen. Ugh on flooding. Do you have a basement? And if so, a sump pump?
Laurie, that sounds really good. I'd try that for sure. Yes, you should post it, so I could bookmark it. :)

We have a small, unfinished basement. No sump pump. Just a drain in the floor. As we redo the house, one project is to fix any drainage problems. By the time we are all finished we will be 95 years old. LOL.

I tried to get in to GR via the Ipad and it failed miserably so I will try again. Sigh. Have a good evening.
