Hot Turkey Thursday!

Good Morning Everyone! It is a gray gloomy morning here in the Ottawa Valley! Supposed to rain off and on all day I think. Jim and I have appointments starting at 11:10 to go donate blood. Will run a couple of errands while we`re out and be home for lunch.

Think I`ll use up the last of the turkey leftovers and make Hot Turkey sandwiches with Oven fries for dinner this evening.

The Author Visit was enjoyable last night.

Your dinners out and appy last night sounded yummy Laurie. I really dislike beer though so I don`t think I`d like your cocktail. The Home Fresh lunch salad sounded delicious.

Wishing you all the best with your back Karen. What is involved with decompression treatment? Ugh @ Broccoli cheese soup. LOLOL.

    Wishing everyone a lovely day.

Morning! Good for you both donating blood Janet! Yum on hot turkey sandwiches, those always sound so good to me :)

Running to the grocery store after the gym. Going to make the guys burritos for lunch, hopefully I can get them all wrapped up in foil like Freebirds does so they aren't messy. That's what they want though! They will be finishing up painting and probably going o move onto another project.

Dinner will be ribs, mashed potatoes amd maybe broccoli? Wishing everyone a great day!!

    Good Morning Everyone.

We had a nice little thunderstorm roll thru in the wee hours of the night. It rained a little early evening and then much later we got the thunderstorm but it didn't last long. Hurricane Michael really clobbered the pan-handle and I feel for what those people went thru.
I slept like a rock last night. Need to really get with it and finish choosing plants for the landscape re-do and figure out what parts I want done. I've been dragging my feet because I'm trying to decided if I want an area filled in with more pavers or just new plants.
No idea about dinner just yet, maybe meatloaf tonight.

Good Luck to your mom Michelle with her surgery. Is this the second one that was scheduled? or an unexpected one? Hope all goes well and she has a great recovery.

Wow Kimmer, you are catching some of the bad weather from the storm. Poor Chloe getting scared but too it must be comical to see her "poof up".

The beer drink sounds interesting Laurie. Something like the margarita beers?

Hope your back starts feeling better Karen. Frustrating when something so uncomfortable takes so long to get better. Yum on Panera's … love broccoli cheese soup!

How you doing Joce? Sleeping any better yet?

Sounds like you had a good day yesterday Janet. Hot turkey sandwiches are always a favorite for me. Hope you get your errands done and so nice that you are donating blood.

We`re at the Blood Services now. The nurse that signed me in and did the questions was NOT at all friendly and it pissed me off. I`m volunteering to come here and get a needle and give blood. BE NICE ALWAYS! It`s certainly not that I`m rude or anything. Shaking head. Don`d give me attitude when I`m doing a nice thing.

Is freebirds a restaurant Michelle? That`s awesome the guys are finishing up the painting. That went fast!!!! Everything but the broccoli sounds wonderful for dinner. Have a good day.

Glad you got a really good sleep last night Linda.

Jim might do a second coat of paint on the Adirondack chairs. I have a whack of leftover mashed potatoes from Thanksgiving dinner that I will turn in to
    Shake N Bake Potato Balls
    and freeze for future meals.

    Good morning.

Weather here is cool and sunny. Fall weather finally appeared.

Ugh on the rude nurse when you are volunteering! How frustrating!

Linda, we had a few storms go through but needed the rain so no complaints.

    Hi to all,

Sounds like the nurse got up on the wrong side of the bed Janet but it's no excuse to be snappy and rude. I would contact higher-ups and let them know. She's probably old enough to be better and in her line of work it's just not acceptable and if she leaves a bad impression it might prevent a donor from donating again.

    Hi Karen.

It's drizzling here, damp, and feels cool even though it's not, it's 88(f).

It is sunny and 64F, Linda. 88F is way past cool in MO. Ha ha.

GS is getting a 4H award for the local 4H group. We are going and they have a light meal before. I think the pizza place is donating.

Have to get drivers license renewed so we behave to leave shortly.

Hi Karen! How is your sister by the way? You used to have one that lived near Ottawa and then she moved? What is your Grandson getting the 4H Award for? How nice.

I don`t usually let silly people like that get under my skin Linda and I try and rise above it but I did actually send the Blood Services an email and just told me what happened. I`m glad to have it off my chest. It wasn`t a big deal at all, but absolutely...if they want people to donate, the people working there should be very friendly and pleasant. Wow at 88F!

I made and froze 28 Shake `n bake potato balls. Still had a lot of mashed potato leftover so I googled what else I could do with them and found a few fun ideas. I could have used some in a Shepherd`s Pie as I have yet to actually make one. And then I also found this recipe....
    https://www.spendwithpennies.com/loaded-mashed-potato-egg-rolls/
The recipe says to dip them in sour cream which I am not a fan of. What else do you think you could dip them in that would be yummy? I threw out the rest of the mashed potatoes. I`m not picking on my niece honestly, but she mashed the potatoes for dinner that night and they`re almost hard as rock now. I don`t know if she just mashed them longer than I usually do or if she added more milk or what. I noticed it that evening too. They almost tasted a bit gluey.

I sound like a real witch today. LOLOL. I`m honestly not. LOLOLOL.

Picked up some local honey for our coffee today and a smoked turkey drumstick so I can make another batch of our favourite Sauerkraut soup. Also bought two Kassler (smoked pork chops). Score at the store. :)

Janet, my sister is in Camrose (? Spelling) somewhere in Alberta. She is doing fine except for a government travel form mixup that meant she could not fly into the states. I guess it is fixed now.

GS award is tonight. Had to renew my drivers license so went to Licking. It was closed! Had to drive sixteen miles to Houston. It is renewed and good unti 2021. Did not have to take the driving test which would require utmost patience on part of the examiner since I NEVER parelell Park.

    Have fun. See you later.

Did you like the book Laurie? If I remember correctly you guys do a dinner too right? What did you have tonight?

Oh Yes Karen...I remember now about the travel form mix up. I knew your GS`s award was tonight but I didn`t know why he received an award. I never parallel park either. Hate it. Jim takes great delight in getting the chance to parallel park. He says it`s good practice. I tell him to shut up. LOLOLOLOL.
