Good Morning Everybody! I'm on here later than usual so had been hoping someone had already started a thread! :) Wakey-wakey! Waves and whoops to Laura as she heads off on her cross country trip to Louisiana. Have a blast! Am going to have to admit that I watched the first hour of Masterchef but then switched over to the Sens Game and DVR'd the second half and haven't watched it yet. How did it go? I didn't see Dahlia the first hour. Our Chalet style chicken was yummy but our Senators got WIPED with a capital W. Lost 7-2 and the next game is back in Pittsburgh on Fri. Ugh. Tonight I am going to make Chicken Lickin Good Pork Chops with some rice and some broccoli (for Jim and Mom) :) Marie, are you going to attempt that cheesecake today? :) Did I say that Benjamin had indeed moved into the apartment with his friend? He's so happy to have his own 'room' again and he met one of the other room mates last night, a girl from England and he says she's really cool. I'm so tickled for him. Have a hair appointment in a half hour. The dishwasher repairman called in sick. Argh. &^%$#*&^! Re-booked for next Tues. Have a great day everyone!
Thanks for the happy send off! We are sitting on the back porch finalizing packing plans. Pretty close and we dont leave until later in the day. We watched all of master chef and didnt seen dahlia in either segment. I was confused at the end of the shownwhether or not their would be more contestants to be selected in the next episode. I'll be watching next time to find out.
No Janet and Marie I didn't see her either in the two hours? Maybe next week? Yes it was a bummer of a game. Den kept giving me the awful news:( So happy that Ben likes his new place. LOL I found it sort of funny that the dishwasher repairman called in sick. I have never had a repairman do that yet! Chicken Licken Good Pork Chops sound lovely and they will go nicely rice and broccoli. Have fun in Sac Marie and I am sure you will come up with something for dinner. It is supposed to thunderstorm and rain again today and tomorrow. It is either feast of famine around here in the last few years with weather. I might go to Smiths Falls today to do some shopping and check out some of their garden centers if it doesn't pour cats and dogs again! I am not certain what is for dinner as I am out of many things we need. I will see what I can pick up when I am out.
Have a good trip to Sacramento Marie. Yum on Burritos.( I've maybe only had burritos once in my whole life) I'm very envious of your trip Laura. I love bopping around and exploring new vistas. It's the excitement of knowing you are about to learn or see something new. I love that. Can't believe the amount of rain we've got eh Joce! Crazy. We need it though. We're still behind in our annual rainfall to date compared to last year. And we sure don't want a drought like last year either. Also am envying you your jaunt to Smiths Falls and to the garden centers. We're just sort of hanging out hoping a Dr. will call us with an appointment for Mom. Finished watching the 2nd half of Master Chef. I don't think I've ever watched this show before. There certainly are a lot of 'characters' on there. LOL.
Okay...pork chops are in the slow cooker. Just got off the phone from leaving a message with a local driving school. I have to go for my final license by Aug. or I lose it so I need some practice lessons before hand. Haven't parallel parked or backed into a parking spot since my last test over a year ago. You all know full well how hugely this thing stresses me out. Send me major good vibes please. :) Whew. I'm just shakin' from making the call for God's sakes. :(
Watched both hours myself, and boy oh boy, do they pull the heart strings on this show. Don't like the Joe ? judge at all. He looks so smug. Some strange dishes those contestants served up....breast milk, bear and ostrich.
Safe trip and happy chow-down, Laura. Happy Birthday to Mr. Such-A-Fuss!! Have a mudbug or two for me. Can't wait to see the pictures from your trip.
Janet, what kind of dishwasher do you have? Surely there must be a "lemon law" on the number of repairs you have had on it. Even under warranty, that it still won't work is silly. Sorry about the Sens. Bummer. Glad Benjamin has met his roommate and is happy. That must ease your mind a bit about his welfare. Nice supper plans.
Joce, Good luck on the grocery shop and I hope the rain holds off. Enjoy the garden center.
Marie, good luck on the cheesecake. It isn't as hard as people make it to be, really. Have a good trip to town.
I know right Tina! Breast milk? Give me a break. They've just got to allow these people on for the Wow TV factor because it's truly ridiculous. I also don't like how the judges can be so cutting. There's no need. Say your 'yes' or your 'no' and there is no need to degrade someone but again I realize it's for the ratings. The beaver tail was disgusting. My dishwasher is a Bosch and a good one. It ran like a dream for the first five years and just near the end of that time it started blowing up. I should look into the warranty clause alright and see about a lemon law. It's just one of those painful things ya know? :) What cha doin' for dinner? Yes Laura, "Happy Birthday" to hubby! :)
My sister is here and raising a ruckus. I need to leave this instant before this becomes a battle royale. The chicken is leftover bbq from last night. Fresh avocado, sliced. My new cpap machine is delayed. Tomorrow is another day.
LOL Yes there were many characters in the show last night. I was going to mention the beaver tail guy he was unreal as well as the ostrich, bear and I must have missed the breast milk and thought they were talking about normal milk Holy!!! I just got back in the nick of time and unpacked the trunk full of stuff and got everything into the house before it started pouring. I didn't go to any garden centers as the sky started to darken and I had a feeling I would be driving right into the storm. Janet keep practicing backing up anywhere that you can like backing up your whole driveway it gives you more confidence just put your right arm over the passengers seat and look back. I know your driving instructor will help you again and parallel parking well I can't say it is my favourite thing but you will do JUST FINE:) I remember my driving test when I was sixteen and at that time the examination place was on Catherine Street. I was so nervous I was shaking like a leaf the whole time but I passed.
Tina, Try to enjoy your time away and take Alison with a grain of salt if you can. She seems to have been born with a bug in her bonnet that one. SIGH! Like you need it like a hole in the head as my Mom would say.
Num on the tomato soup and wrap Tina. Sorry to hear about your CPAP machine being delayed and that Alison is up to her usual tricks. Run, run while you can. :) Thanks Joce. I'll just have to psyche myself up that morning before the test. :)
Janet, I missed your post on the driving test. You'll be fine. Backing up might be rusty but you'll get it back soon.
I have black nails with white polka dots, red corset with black ties and white nails with little red cherries......absolutely adorable. So cute. I showed her some of my Pinterest nails and she combined them onto my finger tips. LOVE them.
I just had a cup of soup.....it is yummy. I'm starving and had to have a bite double quick.
I can't get worked up about Al, it was the alkyhol talking. My house reeks of cigarettes and I was only gone an hour and a half. boo hoo
have more bananas and more Reese's mini cups...I see a loaf of bread in our future.
We ate all the corn chowder. It was good. I had some tomato soup ala Dahlia. I even made a grilled cheese. I'll have the wrap later. Although I don't want a wrap now...I wish we had pizza. LOL Fred is digging through old family albums and making me cry. Pictures of Daddy Buddy with Grandma Roberts walking arm in arm down Central Avenue. He was so thin and he had on black and white oxfords....before he went to war. So handsome.
We're back..got in after 1:00, had a few calls while in Sac so he had to do a service call and give a bid on the way home up here in Paradise..I did our banking, went to the store to p/u 5 pkgs of cream cheese so I'm all set:D I am pretty tired, we have been running most of the day! I can't catch up, just wanted to check back in:)
Oh right...you did tell us about that tomato soup Tina. My mind slipped. :) I could go for a pc. of pizza myself. Haven't had that in awhile. Sounds like you had a busy day Marie. Res' yourself! :) I'm excited for you to make this cheesecake. :) I did see the entire buffalo frybread taco thing on Masterchef this morning. The frybread looked exactly like yours. (Yours would have won!) :) Did you notice the one judge, I think it was the chubby one, said he'd never seen that before. :)
I want a Chicago Deep Dish from Cappy's!!! Buttery crust and a knife and fork experience. So darn good. it will wait for another day! Liv and I are aiming for the crepe place tomorrow am for breakfast and then movies all day cuddled in the big bed! I want to see Bridesmaids.
Marie, you can do the cheesecake! It is really a matter of timing. And be patient on blending. Happy early Bday to Rick. Nice to hear the business is going so well.
