Monday Morning!

Sorry about the boring thread title, but I'm not creative this morning :P
Happy Belated Mother's Day to everyone! Sorry I haven't been around much this past week, but it was just hectic, but all is good now and I'm going to have a semi relaxing day minus the loads and loads of laundry I need to get done lol.

How was everyone's weekend? I'll have to read back and catch up! We had a Saturday tournament. It was good, 7 games in a row with no breaks was killer and we came in 4th, so no trophies for us, but the girls had a fun (and exhausting) time.

Last night Michael grilled stuffed bacon wrapped jalapenos, filets, New York strips, and lobster tails. We had corn on cob as well and we were stuffed!! Even with no starch! Lol. Bri found out she likes stuffed jalapenos as long as the jalapenos aren't super spicy, and these weren't :)

I have some leftover rice pilaf from Friday that has carrots and peas in it, and some leftover steak and pork chops as well, so I'm going to make some fried rice with all of it tonight. That's about it, hope everyone has a great day!!

Good Monday Morning! Nothing wrong with the title Michelle, it works and works well. LOL!
Yum on your Sunday feast! Enjoy your relaxing day even though the wash machine and drying will be going all day. Wow on 7 games in a row. Was the tournament local?

It rained all day and night yesterday which was good because we needed a really good ground soaking. It's suppose to be overcast with the chance of rain every day this week. Some depression is sitting in the Gulf bringing the rainy weather and I too think we are seeing the start of the rainy season.
I was so bored yesterday I made 1/2 a batch of walnut brownies and ate half of what I made.
I really want to get out of the house with the dog today and hope the rain holds off to let us do something. It's a little cool though. Depending what we do will then determine what might be for dinner as I think lunch out will probably happen.
Finished the book I was reading "A Column of Fire" and it was so good!! I loved it and am so sad it's over. I started looking for something else to read but nothing is catching my eye.

Your lunch today sounds great Janet. Glad you are all prepped and ready. Uggh on the hard poached eggs. I guess it's hard to keep something like that warm without it getting over cooked.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Glad to hear you will be able to relax a little bit today Michelle! Congrats to the girls coming in 4th in the tournament. Sounds like Michael cooked up a veritable feast last night! Deelish! I saw the photo of you and your Mom on your FB timeline. Just lovely! How's she feeling?

Hope you get out with LD Linda. You know a book is great when you're sad you've reached the end. :) I've had Eggs Benedict at that very restaurant before and the eggs have been perfect. Someone either didn't check them or let it go. Both boo-boos. We went there for Mother's Day brunch when Benjamin was still living at home so we have a soft spot in our hearts for it on that day.

I'm as set as I can be for lunch with my girlfriend and her daughter. Jim is going to make the cocktails and grill the chicken wings. The edamame is all made and on the table. The soup is done and I just have to reheat it and I'll do the dumplings at the last minute. I found some Taiwanese music on Spotify so have that going in the background. I think this is going to be very fun. :)

Hi Linda! The tournament was only about 25 minutes away, so it wasn't too bad! Glad you got some rain, we could use some here. Hope it holds off for you though so you can get out and about!

My Mom is doing really well Janet, thank you for asking! She has gotten the okay from her doctor to drive now as well as take off her neck brace. She is very weary of both though. When her brace is off for too long her neck and back really starts hurting. I told her to just take it slowly and she will eventually gain back her neck and back strength. That photo of us was taken about 2 years ago I think? Enjoy your day with your GF and daughter!! Sounds like it's going to be fun :)

We went out in spite of the rain. Bass Pro Shop has a great restaurant with a nice covered and screened outdoor eating area with tvs too. We went there. We use to go all the time but about 2 years ago they revamped their menu and took off so many items, most of what we use to go there for. The food is still good but the menu is limited and there are only 2 items now that DH will eat and 3 items for me. Today I had their fish tacos and DH had a grilled bacon cheese burger. LD came and was very happy to be out and about. We walked around the store after but I didn't see anything I needed.
I really should go to the grocery store and do some shopping but just not in the mood and it'll just have to wait till tomorrow.

Welcome back Michelle. Congrats on the tournament. Sunday dinner sounds awesome.

Linda, we could use rain, also, but severe storm watches are out for this area today. Such fun...NOT! Hope you, HD and LD enjoyed your time out.

Hi Janet. Love your lunch plans!

Ran into town. Wayne and middle GS wenrt to Bow And Barrel and shot a pistol of Wayne’s and the 243 rifle that he likes. I got daughter to optometrist for an eye exam and new glasses. Then picked up some groceries.

Last night I experienced vertigo like never before. Yipes! It is the allergens kicking up and clogged up ears. So I got some stuff for it and will see how that goes.

    Laundry is calling!

I can imagine how your Mom's neck and back must hurt without her brace initially Michelle. I'm so pleased to hear she's doing so well.

Fun on the jaunt to Bass Pro Linda. Yum on both fish tacos and the bacon cheese burger.

Lunch went well and they just headed off a bit ago. Jim made the cocktail which was really yummy and I served it with a pc. of Taiwanese pork paper that I brought back with me. :) The wings didn't have as much flavour as I was hoping they would so I'd doctor the recipe up before serving it again. They watched some video of our trip and we went for a hot tub afterwards. Now they're all relaxed and said they need a nap. LOL.

Enough leftovers in the fridge I won't bother fixing anything for dinner. It's a gorgeous day here today.

Good afternoon and hello to all. Had a lovely Mother's day yesterday. Your lunch sounded like a lot of fun today Janet! We have had nothing but rain here today. Loving it actually, and so is my lawn! Chloe not so much as she is limited to the back porch for any outdoor type amusement. Even had some rolls of thunder.

Have some cube steaks cooking away in the crock pot. I rarely buy those anymore (used to a lot years ago when the kids were young as they were soooo cheap) but was at The Fresh Market Saturday and they just looked so fresh and good. They're getting all happy happy making their own gravy and should be done soon. Will have mashed potatoes and green beans with. Nice comfort meal for a rainy night.

    Hope all enjoy their evening.

Hi Kimmer! I used to make toasted cube steak sandwiches with fried onions and mustard allllll the time when Jim and I were first married and we loved them. LOL @ "They're getting all happy happy making their own gravy". LOL! Sounds super yummy. Condolences to Chloe on the weather. :)

Quick question Janet ... when you made Slow Cooker Chicken Stock. Did it make more broth while cooking? You know how you put a chicken in the crockpot and it makes lots of juice ... will this make juice or is the yield just the water you add. Trying to figure out how high to fill my crock. Thanks.

There’s Kimmer! Sounds like you got the rain we got yesterday. Welcomed though, as you say we need it.

I'm gonna say 'yes' Linda, but not a lot. I think the recipe says to fill the crockpot 3/4 full yes? You'd be safe with that.

Ok! Thanks. Going to make some overnight. I already started it but didn’t fill it all the way. Figured if I needed to add more water I could.
