National Wine Day Wednesday!

Good Morning Everyone! It's National Wine Day today. :)

Yum on your taco salad last night Laurie. I should short list that as it's a great summer meal. Hope you get some relief after your Chiro appointment today. I'm sure falling off your steps could be a major contributor to your back hurting.

Your dinner sounded yummy last night as well Karen.

Glad you enjoyed your pedicure Linda. The colour sounds lovely. LOL @ Swedish fish. Despite the fact that my DH doesn't like desserts and sweets, he DOES LOVE gummies. :) Caesar salad sounded delicious.

Dinner last night went very well and despite my friend's inconsideration, I'd do it again in a second. :) The meal turned out well and they totally enjoyed it and we had a lovely catch up and chat. It was really good to see them.

Jim's about to bring the car over to the garage to get the winter tires off and the summer tires on plus an oil change. And our "ABS" light keeps coming on and off and something weird is happening with the trunk not opening once in awhile. Something wrong with the electronics? Our mechanic will run diagnostics. Cross your finger the bill doesn't hurt too badly. :)

Have lots of chicken left from last night for lunch today and tomorrow and am going to bake a rainbow trout for our dinner this evening with a lemon dill butter. Need to use up most of the stuff in the fridge since we'll be away for the weekend.

    Wishing everyone the bestest Wednesday!

Good Morning All! I'll support National Wine Day with a glass later. Thought I'd share this recipe in support of it too ... Wine Jello

Aaarrgh. Went to put the turkey breast we just bought at Whole Foods in the crock pot this a.m., opened the package and it stunk! I swear when DH buys meat he always always buys the rancid package, always. This just happened with the whole chickens we bought at Costco the other week when he picked the package and before that a whole filet from Fresh Market. That's it ... he can not pick the meat, he can tell me what he wants but I'll pick it. So with that being said we will be taking a ride down to Naples to return the darn thing ... at $46 you bet I'm returning it.

Happy dinner all was well in the end Janet and hoping the car bill won't hurt much and that there are no surprises. Love rainbow trout! Reminds me I need to pick some up for the freezer. It's so easy to make but so good.

Need to start the day early now that we have this unexpected venture for later today.

That's about it for now. Hope everyone has a great day.

What a drag the turkey breast was bad Linda. I HATE when that happens and the smell is just sickening. Ai yi yi on $46 though. Seriously? For just a breast? That must be a very fancy turkey.

Glad everything went well eventually for you yesterday, Janet. I think if the host suggests going out for lunch or dinner the host should pay. Unless it is close family or a very close friend who you know you can discuss and decide who is paying. I hope the bill on the car isn't too crazy. I haven't had rainbow trout in ages, I must pick some up.
Yuk! I would be returning that turkey breast too, Linda! Ouch on the price! I hope your unexpected trip turns into a lucky one.
I hope the Chiropractor can help your back, Laurie. How long did they tell you to keep off your foot? I love taco salad, it is another thing I haven't had in ages.
It has been too hot to work out in the garden but it is overcast this morning so I might be able to finish cleaning things up. Not sure what we are having for dinner tonight yet.
    Wishing everyone a great day!

No kidding on the price of the turkey breast! I never would have paid that which is why nobody else paid it which was why it went bad. That's Whole Foods for you. DH had gone in by himself, we had the dog and I stayed out in the car with the dog thinking it was a simple task sending DH in the store. Lesson learned.

It's already over 90 (f) here Joce. It's gonna be a hot one.

Hey Joce! I know you love to poke around Garden Centers this time of year. Have you picked up anything cool?

Yes Linda, I think your DH should be taken off of grocery duty. :) Ugh on 90F! I don't know if I could breathe. :) It's 18C/64F here right now and going up to 26C/78F this afternoon.

    Hi.
It is supposed to be 80ish today but so far not.nrain threatens then fizzles.

Boo on the turkey breast spoilage. Hope they take it back without problems. No, your DH needs to retire from grocery shopping ... Ha ha. (Grin). Mine does okay except he is not aware of prices.

Ordering rock for garden beds to be delivered Friday.

Good afternoon! Happy wine day :) Glad you dinner last night with your guests went well. Yikes, fingers crossed on a low repair bill!

Oh man, don’t y’all just have the worst luck with spoiled meat Linda. Definitely return it and get your money back! I never let Michael do any grocery shopping, no telling what he’d come back with!!

Good luck on getting some gardening done before the sun comes out Joce :)

    Hi Karen :-)

Went to the gym then I had to run up to Sprint to get my old cell phone activated because the touch screen went out on my current one :( So now I have an old beat up, out of date phone that I have to use until I get mine back from getting fixed. We have insurance on them through a different company so we will have to do it through the mail.

It’s pretty overcast here as well, so I too may get out into the garden. Whoops I just said that and the sun came back out lol. Still will probably get out there until I can’t bear it. Pulled out some round steak for dinner and I plan on making Joce’s Steak In The Oven :) Have a great day everyone!!!

Fun on the garden bed progress Karen!

I got a lot of mowing done this morning and next I'm going to help Jim dig up the veggie garden. Am looking forward to a hot shower and reading my book when we're done. :)

Hi Michelle! SP! Looks like the car bill will be about $600-$700. We need two new tires, some part for the ABS brake system and we got an oil change. Jim has to go back Fri. to get it all finished.

Sorry to hear you had phone troubles. Hopefully they'll fix you up asap.

Jim and I worked on the veggie garden for about an hour and a half and then called it a day. It is SO overgrown. It is not fun at all. We're about 3/4 finished. Heading out for a hot tub. I think my back will be complaining tomorrow. :(
