- A little bit of vegetable oil to grease the pan. shopping list
- One 1 pound boneless blade steak or round steak trimmed of fat. shopping list
- It doesn't have to be a high end steak at all. shopping list
- I can diced tomatoes with juice. (I use no salt added ones) shopping list
- 1/2 cup water to rinse the tomato can shopping list
- I half can drained peas or green beans shopping list
- 2 or 3 medium potatoes peeled and sliced (omit if you want and shopping list
- make mashed potatoes to serve on the side.) shopping list
- Salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350F
- In a 11 inch fry pan on medium high with a bit of oil in ti sear steak on both sides for a couple of minutes. Remove from heat and add the can of tomatoes and water evenly over the top. Mix around the steak with a wooden spoon. Then add the peas or green beans evenly over the top of that. Top with sliced potatoes (if using) then add salt and pepper to your taste. Cover and bake in the oven for one and a half to two hours until the potatoes are done and the steak is tender. This is a good dish you can have ready, when someone is going to be late for dinner. It warms up perfectly in the oven in no time at all. Just serve hot and dig in:)

I LOVE slow cooking round steak, so this sounds like something we would enjoy :) Making soon, but with sweet potatoes!
