Soap again Saturday

Good Morning! It's soap again Saturday and attached are two pictures. One loaded sideways but it's that last one I made ... water based, no fragrance, and a simple deactivated charcoal swirl. Just cut this morning.

You'll love having 1.5 acres Michelle. I grew up in a house with a little more than an acre lot and it was great. Big enough to be a kid and have lots of outdoor fun not to mention what you can do gardening wise. Best of luck with it all!!

You'll be passing thru Ft. Myers Kimmer ... I'll wave 'HI". Enjoy the wedding. Sanibel is lovely.

I've been wanting to make a throw Karen and the ones I've seen that I like use all different kinds of stitches row after row. But they are all pretty. I probably won't make it though because it hurts my neck too much to crochet.

Hope your mom feels better soon Janet. I'm sure if she was feeling better adjusting would be easier. Are relatives still visiting?

Never did make salmon last night so will tonight. The other day we had to take DH's computer in for repair. The screen was locked in stripes and there was nothing I could do at home via the phone. When they called yesterday to say it was ready to pick up it was too easy to get dinner out so we went to Pinchers (seafood restaurant) and I had blackened Mahi and DH had grilled grouper. I had to get a manager while we were eating. This "younger" couple came in (from their conversation it was noted they were friends), and they were overly obnoxious. Cursing, filthy language and conversation, and they were loud ... giving the bartender a hard time too thinking they were funny. When there was no indication of them quieting down or leaving I went and got a manager to get control of the situation. The manager hung around and observed but coincidently when she was around they would quite down. Was glad to finish eating and leave.

Not sure what plans we have today. Maybe it's time to start cleaning the windows from the outside.

Good Morning Linda! You must be very pleased with your new soap! The black swirls are lovely. I know you said you didn't scent this batch but I LOVE scented soap and this one says "Liquorice" to me. I love liquorice! :)

Good Morning Everyone! Well the sun is out and the sky is blue but it's still pretty chilly out. -10C/14F. I gave the turkeys an extra meal of bird seed yesterday afternoon since I felt sorry for them having to sleep out in the cold overnight. :)

Our weekend guests will be arriving for lunch today and I'm going to serve
    Ham N Swiss Loaf
    with a veggie tray

Jim is going to grill up some steak and chicken and we're going to do Fajitas for dinner this evening. As I mentioned the other day I bought some fresh salsa, nacho chips and torts from "The Lone Star Restaurant" and I'll saute up some red pepper and onion slices to go with the fajitas along with guacamole. I have sour cream too if anyone wants that although Jim and I don't like it. I'll probably put out another veggie tray or make little salads or do a plate of tomatoes and avocado slices to go with the Fajitas.

And what are all of you up to for the rest of the day? Kimmer, I know you and your family will be heading to the wedding today. Did you make it to the Meat Market yesterday Michelle? :) Any tournaments on this weekend? Karen, I think you mentioned you and Wayne will go deer hunting today. Hope your thumb feels all better now.

Wishing everyone a great Saturday. It is Remembrance Day in Canada today and I believe you call it Veteran's Day in the States? Being here in Ottawa, the Capital of Canada, there is a big ceremony at the War Memorial down town. It gets up to tens of thousands of people attending. A lot of stores won't open until 12:30 and I even read that the local buses will pull off to the side of the road to observe 2 minutes of silence at 11 a.m. "The Last Post and Reveille" will be played over the bus drivers' radios.

When I first posted you only had the photos up Linda, no words, but now I can comment on your post. :) Yes, Mom is still getting visitors. I have a good friend who's actually in Rainy River this weekend visiting her Mom and she's going to drop over to see mine too. The Retirement residence is on the main drag so it's very easy to pop in.

Nice on your dinner out last night. Sounded lovely. A shame about the obnoxious couple though. :(

Jim took the screens off the windows and doors the other day and wiped the interior of the windows down. The outside could probably use it too but I suspect we won't get around to doing it until the spring. :)

When I first posted it was from my Ipad ... then I went over to my desktop. Easier to type from the desktop but easier to post pictures from the Ipad.

That's good your mom is getting visitors. That may help her mood/spirits. Enjoy your company. Fajitas sound great!!

Yep, it's concluded ... it's window washing day for the outside. Taking the screens out and DH will wash them down and I'll take a bucket around and do the outside of the windows. They are dirty from Irma and too we had a spell with gnats and ...
Well best get into some work clothes and moving before it gets too hot.

Your soaps are SO beautiful, Linda! Too bad you had to endure such an obnoxious couple while eating your dinner. sounds like they were doing it intentionally just to get a rise out of people. Don't you just hate people who do that!

A very good idea for guests for lunch today, Janet. Your cookies are just adorable. I bet the young one will really like that. Very cool indeed that the buses will pull over and observe two minutes of silence and play "The Last Post and Reveille" over the radio. Is this something new this year? I never heard about them doing that on Remembrance Day before.

Den has gone to do the grocery shopping and after that, he will run out to MacDonald's to pick up our breakfast. He is going earlier today because The Remembrance Day Ceremony will be happening on the street we use to get to MacDonald's and the traffic and crowds will be in the way. It always seems it is very cold on Remembrance Day. Den will have his normal fare of cheeseburgers and oven fries for dinner and I don't know what I am having for dinner yet. I think Den is going to get up and clean the eavestroughs today and maybe mow the lawn for the last time before putting the lawnmower away for the winter.
    Wishing everyone a great day!

Morning!! Wow that soap is beautiful Linda! I love the swirls and the black on cream color. I can't stand obnoxious people, go you for getting a manager.

lol at feeling sorry for the turkeys Janet :P. All of your food for the day sounds delicious, fajitas are a great idea! Yes I finally got to the meat market lol..and nope, no tournament. We needed a weekend off for sure :)

Good idea for Den to get out early and get shopping done before the ceremony Joce. We had burgers last night!!

At the gym and Caiden was happy to come with me and play with his friends in the kid watch. After I'm going to pick up Bri from Emma's, she stayed the night over there, and we will go grab some lunch somewhere. The kids need some more warm clothes so we will stop by some stores as well. I have a couple of coupons I'm hoping we can use. Thinking of breakfast for dinner, maybe biscuits and gravy? Pancakes? Lol. Have a great day everyone!!

Thanks again everyone for the soap compliments.

Hired a power washing company to wash the lanai both front and back and also the walk and driveway and then seal it now that the rainy season is over. They were suppose to come Thursday but got a knock on the door asking if they could wash today ... SURE!! We are home and funny because we just finished washing the windows and screens and other gunk off the house.

Am poaching chicken breast so I'll have meat to shred for chicken soup and chicken salad and will make that tomorrow.

The guy and girl yesterday Joce were just obnoxious slobs. I think he was showing off for her because it was his mouth that was so filthy but no excuse for her because the topics of conversation left something to be desired. Glad management was on top of it though. Hope Den gets all the outside chores done.

Have fun shopping Michelle. We have two seasons here ... Hot and warm. LOL!!

Love the soaps Linda. You have a great talent for making them so pretty.

    Enjoy your McD breakfast, Joce.

How did your company go Janet?

Michelle, you are one busy person. I would crash if I had half of your activities.

The cut is healing just fine.

Last night we gathered rifles, gear, jackets, etc. in the living room for the day hunting. My couch was covered with everything needed and a bunch of what-if stuff we usually take with. Water, small blankets, flashlight, permits, cell phone for possible pictures, etc.

Saga of the Frustrated Hunting Day

We planned to get out by 6:30 in the morning. The fire radio went off at 3;30 - possible heart attack, air evacuated to Springfield. Wayne back at 5:30. We turned off the alarm - 4 hours of sleep does not make for safe hunting. Got ready to leave later this morning -- fire radio went off as we were walking out the door, rifles in hand. Put guns down, drove to the site.

A hunter had fallen and was 300 yards up an old logging trail which was blocked by fallen trees so vehicles could not reach him. The 3 air ambulance guys, 2 EMS people, and 2 deputies, along with his buddies and 2 from the fire dept., hiked to him (one of his buddies had stayed with the guy of course), put him on a back board, and brought him down the rugged trail to the helicopter. We arrived at home late in the morning.

Finally got out to hunt by 1:30-ish. On the way two deer were in the lower field. Since we were going to be in the woods, we had short range rifles. They were way out of range. One even stopped and stared at the Gator!

Once in the tents it started clouding up. I could smell the rain in the distance. All deer had vacated that spot. As if they knew we were coming. Heard shots - some St. Louis people were at their deer camp shooting to use up the ammo -- 15 shots at a time, scaring the deer away. Gave up.

On the way back three deer raced across the field where the other 2 had been. When we got home and took Fritz out later to "assist" in doing chores, we both heard a deer snorting just around the corner of the house. It was way past legal hunting time. It was safe.

Next available date for us to hunt is Monday morning for Wayne, but I will probably not go out until after the chimney guy is finished. Unless, of course, the cleaning fairy makes an unexpected appearance and cleans my living room. The little brat has not appeared in the all the 19 years we have lived here, some cleaning fairy! So I will probably have to be sure it is decent so the man can find a path through the hunting paraphernalia to the wood stove.

Have nice evening. See you later.
