Soggy Saturday

Good morning everyone. Since I get up so early during the week I have a hard time sleeping past 6am on weekends!
    Working at Macy's today.
So interviewed for a job on Thursday doing kind of what I do now at Sutton but for elderly housing. Really want this job but have to go through the next step of interviewing with the management company itself. Yesterday I interviewed for a position at Macy's and they offers me the job but still working out the finance aspect. I want more that the job is scaled to pay but they think they can override it with Finance Dept. so torn. If I take the Macy's job it's weekends and not a set schedule but something I know I am good at but what if I get offers the other job next week? Ugh. Someone please pray for me to find the answer! And Macy's needs to know ASAP because coming into busy season and I have to go through training.

Good Morning Laurie! I've been kind of been doing the opposite lately. I NEVER used to sleep in 'til 8:30 and I've done it a few times the last couple of weeks. That being said, I tend to wake up around 5 a.m. and think about the day ahead and don't get back to sleep right away. :)
So here's my humble opinion about your job dilemma. It sounds to me that it is the Management Company position that you'd prefer. You've done your time with weekends and crazy hours. Macy's KNOWS you and LOVES you, that's a given. I would tell Macy's that you are in the midst of a set of interviews with another company and need a week/week and a half to be in the position to make the right choice. Macy's will wait for you because they really want you and by telling them you are talking to another company you also cement getting the salary you want because they know you're talking to someone else, if in the event you don't get the Condo job. BUT YOU WILL! :) Go after the job you truly want even if you're nervous. It will pay off. See the lady in the first pic up there? She's a winner. :) (Lovely picture of Rachel with the apples too. Did you get through using them all up)
Gorgeous morning here in the Ottawa Valley. A golden light is streaming through the leaves and coming into the house. So pretty. 4 deer in the backyard and 4 turkeys in the front.
Heading to the Farmer's Market this morning, then home to prep dinner. Guests showing up at 6 so I should have plenty of time.
Tina...how are you doing today? Better I hope!
Michelle, what finds did you pick up at the Farmer's Market?
How did you make out with the two deliveries and the chimney sweep Marie? Did Rick make it back in time?
Did you manage to stock up on your coffee Shona?
Did you get through to the Picture framing lady Joce?
Karen? Any more wild hog sightings?
Don....what fun things do you have lined up for the weekend?
MA, do you work on the weekends too or do you have those off?
    Wishing everyone a super Saturday!

Laurie, I agree with Janet. Go for the job you really want. Follow your heart and your instincts. You go for it Girl!

Have fun at the FM, Janet. It certainly is a nice day for entertaining. I didn't get through to the picture framing lady. I left a message and I am hoping to hear from her soon. In answer to your question. I have a Glen Loates Limited Edition lithograph print, I bought year and years ago from the WWF. It is a large print of Loons on the water and I just love it! It is number 3 of 147 prints. I also have a Bateman Print of a Loon taking off out of the water which I also love. I have many things to be framed as well.

I am having Pickerel for dinner and Den is having his normal fare of Cheeseburgers and fries.
    Wishing everyone a great day!

SP Marie, The Property Owners Dinner sounds great to me and you can't beat the price! Lol you will have fun at the "Blues and Brews". Funny how when we don't want to go to something we end up enjoying it better than we thought. Have a few beers when you get home:)

Joce, what amazes me is the Blues & Brews at Paradise Community Park is right across the street from The Paradise Police Dept. I know for a fact some people drink too much and drive and that really bothers me..a lot..that's why if we go to a function like this, one of us is the designated driver...maybe I will go :) I can have a brew when we get home:)
I agree, the price of the dinner is excellent for what you get! You know me though, not a "meat" kind of gal and they sure do have a lot of different meats going on in their menu:-D
Your Glen Loates print sounds beautiful..Loons, that reminds me of one of my favorite movies, "On Golden Pond":)

I think you should go to both the Brews and Blues (Love the blues) and the Italiana dinner Marie! That's very sweet of you to make sure Rick gets home safely. They're sure to have a pop or virgin cocktail for you to have there and then you can have a proper cocktail when you get home. $15 for that Italian dinner is awesome and even if you don't eat any of the meats there's bruscetta, cheese and olives and then you're good to go with the Lasagna Alfredo and the dessert!
Your prints sound lovely Joce. As does both yours and Den's dinner. Did you do the Halibut last night?
The Market was really nice today. There's a cool briskness to the air and all the vendors had their apples and pumpkins out for sale. I bought some beets, red lettuce, apples and a jug of apple cider.
    Time to hit the kitchen!

Hi! Busy day here, we had a LONG softball practice, but it is beautiful outside so it helped out! My allergies started kicking in and I was blowing my nose like a mad woman. I just want to enjoy Fall, not sneeze a thousand times a day! Had to run by Sam's and pick up charcoal and waters. Michael went fishing with my Dad and some people from his work. My Dad's work does an annual fishing trip, so the fishing is free and then they get treated to a huge seafood lunch. Michael caught 2 fish, a red snapper and a trout. Woohoo, so that means fish is on the menu tonight! I am going to make up a blackened seasoning, rub it all over then grill. Wrapping some green beans in foil and grilling those as well. I have some sweet potatoes I need to use so I will just microwave those and and fill them with butter and maple syrup, so good! Hope everyone is having a great day, I'll try and catch up later :)

Sounds like you had a really great day Michelle! A shame about your allergies. With us now getting pretty cool temps Jim's allergies are doing better and should disappear completely once we get that first frost. How fun re: the free fishing! Whoo hoo Michael on the nice fish. That's fun! Your dinner plans sound lovely.
I'm all prepped knock on wood. Just have to go change. I really need to temper my enthusiasm at times....:) I have two silver trays, a large one and a small one and I thought they'd look really pretty to serve my appys on so I pulled out the silver polish and went to town on the smaller tray. Talk about a work out! Holy smokes! I got them both clean (certainly not perfect and I'd get fired at Downton for sure). So then my fingers are all black and won't come clean with soap and water. Ya, that looks REAL nice Janet. :) So then I proceed to cook and next is peeling and slicing beets so instead of black my fingers then got died red. After a bit they came clean and I'm pretty good to go as long as no one looks really closely. :)

    Hi Laurie. Go for it!

Janet, love your suggestion to Laurie. I agree. Red and black go together well so at least your fingers matched - LOL!

Marie hope you enjoy the Blues and Brews.

Joce - Wayne would go for the cheeseburger and fries also.

    Michelle, hurray on the fish!

Let's see - today was GS's BD so we went to his "party" (very low key - some friends coming over to the park and playing and having cake.) The big discussion among the kids was who was the oldest / youngest at the table. So funny!

It is cool today - in the 60-65F range depending on whether you are in the town park area or home. Cats are seeking laps. Mel and Trouble spent much of the afternoon on mine, Mauser is dozing on top of a box which we left out because they love playing in it.

I have to water some of my plants because they will keep over if I don't. Supposed to get rain tomorrow but who knows.

Wayne is talking "use the wood stove to take the chill off" so probably if it stays cool he will have to have a fire going. MO is very erratic about seasons changing -- hot for a bit, col for bit, back to hot, etc. so you never really know when to get your winter stuff out. I enjoy the in between time - lower electric bills with no A.C. and / or furnace.

See you all later. Have a a nice day.
