Sunday SUN day

  • notyourmomma 8 years ago
We can see the SUN! and shadows. Although as I type, it is getting dimmer and dimmer in here.

Ah. Marie, the one ingredient short Fairy visited you. Sounds like your alternative was tasty.
Yes, I enjoyed the Batnyard Builders very much. It was fun too see those cabins gain new life.

Liv is still sleeping. Lola is running around like the nut case she is. My fingers are black and blue. They hurt. Dinner TBD.

    Good morning:)

Tina, ah yes, I always seem to be at least 1 ingredient short:) Looks like I'd get used to it..haha I love restoration of old homes, barns etc. When my parents first moved to Chico, I was probably 10 years old, they bought a 2 story Victorian home..I adored that house and would be thrilled to have one like it now..it was beautiful. 4 bedrooms and 2 baths including a claw foot bathtub up stairs..I will always miss that house. I believe they paid $14,900 for it at the time and now it's being used as a college rental:( They renovated the house and everything looks new..not good in my book:(
I do hope your fingers get better..I hate that you are in Pain:(

Dinner will be grilled tri-tip, Maries Potato Salad and garlic bread:)
    Have a lovely day:)

Love Love Love the new avatar, Tina. It is too cute. Sorry to hear your fingers are still hurting. I hope they heal quickly. I have seen on the news and FB there is lots of flooding in Florida. I hope your house is on higher ground.

Cool on the Victorian home you lived in, Marie. We had a claw footed bathtub when I was a kid. After I moved out of the house it was taken out and the bathroom was all renovated. It was a brick house with four bedrooms and I think they paid something like $23,000. for it back in the early fifties and now it is worth way over a million dollars. I had the opportunity to buy it after my Mom died and my Dad moved to the country out of Ottawa. Sometimes I wish I had bought it but oh well.

Janet, I hope you and Jim are still having a wonderful time and get a chance to stop at Foodsmiths on your way back.

Dinner will be pork chops with mashed potatoes and fresh corn on the cob with applesauce on the side.

    Wishing everyone a great Sunday!

ooooh pork chops!! grilled with whiskey bbq sauce. Green beans/with diced tomatoes and red onion and Greek potato salad. Ooops x-nay on the potato salad. Mine have sprouted wings. I can try Schwan's frozen mashed, instead. That won't be as much work, one handed as I am. Their biscuits and turkey sausage patties are very good by the way.

In answer to your question Joce, we are on high ground at this house. Our old 1926 bungalow was a different matter, we could canoe down the street, every time it rained. I had to carry Tyler over my shoulder and wade into the house in knee deep water. And people wonder how I have multiple hernias. I envy the fresh corn on the cob. I love corn season.

Hi everyone! I really thought I'd be able to pop in here more but we have been out all day and not back into the room until midnight or so. We are having a blast and an getting tanned and tanner by the day lol. We left our hotel this morning in Pottsboro this morning because the reunion was over and now are at a hotel in Arlington right next to Dallas. We are going to Six Flags in the morning. Our hotel is right next to Six flags and we have an awesome view of all the rides right from the pool...I'll try and post a pic. as my avatar...it's really neat. Going to head home on Tuesday. I can't wait to get home and cook a nice HEALTHY meal. I think I've gained 10 lbs with all these huge meals we've been eating. Hope everyone is doing well...talk to y'all later!

    Hey all
Frank and I wound up taking the girls to the Merrimack outlet stores yesterday. Then we went to Qdoba for dinner.
Today we took Rachel to Bentley College for field hockey camp. She will be home Wednesday. Unfortunately, she got a girl she really dislikes for one of her roommates. But she will make the best of it.
When I was in college the apartment I rented had a big claw foot bathtub in it. My friends used to come over and bath lol.

HI. Back from church and settled in sun room. Wayne decided to go fire one of his guns but it is HUGE and LOUD so I am curled up in my chair until he returns from shooting the darn canon. Faked the chickies into coming back inside by calling and heading for their empty feed dish. They are eating an astronomical amount! Always hungry! They raced inside, even the always-last little chicky with the dark head. I closed up the door and they were caught! Tomorrow they will scurry outside and maybe I can scrape the worse of the poop out of the coop (rhyming today - ha ha) and add clean hay. They should appreciate it.

Cool pictures, Tina. What are those critters in the first one? Looking sort of like catfish but not like catfish. Pork chops with whiskey BBQ sauce - ay yi yi yi yi! Glad your Schwanns experience is a good one.

Joce, mashed potatoes are always great with pork chops. Must be pork chop Sunday.

Michelle, enjoy the vacation and forgot the healthy meals until you are home. This is something the kids will look back on as adults. We have a Six Flags near us but are not fond of rides and youngest GS is more into swimming. I imagine Caiden is in his element with all the rides etc. He is at a wonderful age for rides.

Lauirie, we are going to Dallas next month. Most of our time will be taken up with the church convention. I think our hotel is are near the airport and most everything is right there. We will try to visit one or maybe two places nearby - maybe the cowboy museum. It is 10 hours from home. Long drive! I am anxious to go.

O.K. must go. It is past supper time and have to decide what to fix. No interest whatsoever in cooking - ha ha! See you later.

Karen, they are salt water catfish, stuck in drainage ditch.

I'm watching Harry Potter movies and crying over Dobby.

Are you watching The Deathly Hallows - the part where they are in Malfoy's dungeon? Don't want to spoil it if you are watching the Chamber of Secrets because if it is the Deathly Hallows I can REALLY understand feeling so bad for Dobby. In case you wonder, I LOVE reading Harry Potter - they have large print HB books and I may invest in them some of these years as my eyes hate the tiny print. The earlier movies did not follow the book at all, but they wised up and stayed with it in the last 2. Funny, I don't care for any of her adult fiction. Ha! She is the first or second richest female author in the world!

Never heard of salt water catfish. Hope they got the poor things out.

Karen, they are vicious fish in the Gulf. They hurt when their whiskers zap you. I can remember Daddy's fip to grip from behind the whiskers to pull out the hook and then release. I doubt anyone rescued those fish. A Florida fisherman considers them a nuisance.

I was watching the Deathly Hallows. I love Dobby. I loved his loyalty. I'm sorry they didn't flesh out the House Elves rebellion to represent Dobby's loyalty. And yes, I;m a HP geek.
