I've tried gnocci once and they were gummy as all get out. I'm not the person to ask.

We're in the mid-ninties too. It looks like it will be non-stop ninties till October from the look of the forecast.

Don't know what will be for dinner yet. Last night's Hot Browns were so good but so rich. I have about two cups of the cheese sauce leftover and I'm debating what to do with it. Possibly over some fresh steamed cauliflower or broccoli and build a meal from there.

Liv tells me that SeaHag's has added fried dill pickle chips to the menu. I must stay away. Step away from the chip, ma'am. Back off and step away.

Good luck Laurie! Never had gnocci...I have heard of it, but I really don't even know what it is.

Been playing in recipes between loads of laundry today. Enjoying down time with must ME here! lol Was supposed to be heavy soaking rain allday, but so far it's partly sunny and just windy. OH well, got all my errands out of the way and can chill today. I wanted to do a beer butt chicken today, since I'd have the house to myself, but after the peppers last night I don't want to do anything that might not turn out right. lol Saving that for next weekend.

Gonna make Val's Lemon Skillet Chicken (posted to group). Think I will do some kind of mashed red potatoe with the skins on, but not sure how I will do it without loading to the brink iwth butter and cheese...lol...have to be healthy! Probably some borccoli to go with it all. Have a big ol basket of strawberries in the fridge that I need to do something with for dessert.

Laurie, I don't know if you're making potato gnocchi or what but if you are I found a link you may find useful....This is exactly how my MIL made them except she always used egg, just depended on the feel of the potato...and she also added flour until she got the "feel" she was looking for. It takes practice to get them "right".....A hint from me making them is that I use a food mill because I don't have a ricer.

Got a beef stroganoff in the crockpot for supper...Hate the heat and it's gonna be a hot one today..

That water main break was 3 towns from me and we weren't effected at all....Weird!!

LOL Wynne, I was reading along and was wondering where the link was. I can't even imagine what 90º would be like - it has turned colder here now than in Feb. Only 58º, but feels like 40º! Cloudly, misty, crappy weekend, weather-wise.

Laurie, glad Wynne could help you cuz I had nuthin either on the gnocci - never had it, never made it.

You're in the heat too, huh, Tina? Glad you enjoyed the Hot Brown - I have GOT to try one of those some day. Then again, I might regret it - like you with the chips - step away from the Hot Brown, Donna. LOL

Sounds like a good plan, Pat, I hate unpacking!

Lori, it is a tough one to not load on the cheese, etc. on potatoes. Do you have any Molly McButter? I know, I know, not the same thing, but I started putting it on Brad's stuff years ago cuz he thought he HAD to have butter on everything. If you put it on while the food is piping hot, it melts and is not too bad. Just sayen... I commented on your pepper dilemma from last night on last night's thread too...

I've got my London Broil all ready - been marinating since yesterday afternoon. Should be ripe. LOL Thinking of making some potato salad, but that's just "thinking" - hasn't come to fruition yet...... Oh look, it's pouring again. How fun! NOT!

I tried to do an easy dinner and still it took me 2 hours. How does that happen? 30 minute meals I am not! LOL

Baked burritos with southwestern diced potatoes and corn. I hadn't done the baked burritos in a while. I make taco meat then mix in refried beans. Roll that up in a tortilla with onion and cheese...easy peasy and a childhood favorite of mine. The potatoes were frozen in a bag...still can't figure out why it took me so long. :D

    Thanks Wynne
MIL came over and made the gnocci, it was potato gnocci and you are right she had to have the feel, I don't think I will be making them any time soon, its a lot of work!!!
Robyn and I made over 60 arancini and there is less than 10 left in my fridge.
My house was so hot, we don't have the airconditioners in yet.

Still not wrapping my head around you all's heat! Feels like Winter here. I'd heard gnocci was a lot of work too, Laurie - not on my list any time soon!

Ang, that DOES sound good! Post it, please....

London Broil turned out really good - medium rare for the old man, I took mine from the more done end pieces. Made potato salad too. Woo hoo look at me! Brad must've enjoyed it - no leftovers, and he's snoring in his chair... It's only a little after 7! LOL

LOL Ang...glad I'm not the only one!! Seems like it takes me forever to cook anything these days!

    YUM Donna. Just yum.

Val's Skillet Lemon Chicken is one of those killer recipes! SO easy, I thought it would be good, but I wasn't expecting the wow factor...cause it's so easy? lol Lemon and parlsey is a favorite combo, I grew up with my Mom using that instead of lemon / basil, so that's more natural to me! lol I actually had about 6 ot 7 peices a chicken, a few booblets among the boobies...but it was just perfect. I suiced the whole lemon, so I added a littlemore parsely in the sauce, and put the chicken back in it while I mashed my taters. It was an awesome meal. Bryan said to give it a 5. lol Had redsiinned mashed with the skins on and I decided to use the light butter, skim milk and a little parmesan. Very Young Small early Peas to go with. (only kind I like! lol). And soaked some strawberries in triple sce with a tad of sugar, and served with lite cool whip on the little round sponge cakes. Easy, but not "un" healthy! lol
