Thursday Take-out or NOT?

The way things are going around here. It is going to be hot dogs and ranchero beans. This chief cook and bottlewasher is ready to throw in the towel.

Kid is going to the ballgame. I'm going to pop some popcorn and enjoy my hot dog and watch the game from the couch. (and think of the money I saved.)

Good morning! Just don't throw your beer at the umpire Tina, you'll just have to clean up the mess :)

I'm up and at it the morning. Having a "guy" rich day here. Mulch delivery, round two of the electrician, the long awaited appointment with the door guy, and then the foolish cabinet refacing guy. Got talked into letting a fellow in Home Depot let me have a free estimate for cabinet refacing. In a moment of weakness I agreed all because I can't find a way to get my new microwave hung. Oh well. At least I'll know exactly how much is how much that I can't afford to do now.

I'm putting on a crockpot of Nc Bbq Pulled Pork Crockpot for the party on Saturday while I run around and get the dusting and windows done and waiting on guys. Not sure what's for dinner might be a test drive on the pulled pork.

That does sound like a good deal, Pat! Hope you have fun going back to the Cape!

Going to a hotdog cookout tonight for Jaden's 5th brithday party. (Bryan's grandson). So that should be easy enough for me! LOL

Tina sounds like a perfect plan to me.

Good luck with the guys Otter!

OH YEAH...thanks for all the beer butt chicken advice! I think I will try it this weekend since Bryan will be working. I can have it ready when he gets home, without him being around in the prep work. "You can't do that. That' won't work. You can't do that. That's not gonna work" etc etc etc. : )

Tina, enjoy your popcorn, and as far as cooking: he'd eat it or else... just sayin...

Otter, get out your de-testosterone spray!

Pat, that IS a great deal with the prime rib! The dirty martini costs more than THAT here!

    Enjoy your night out, Wynne!

Lori, hot dog cookout sounds good to me - haven't had hot dogs grilled or over a fire since last Fall. Enjoy the party!

Last night spinach/mozzarella stuffed ravioli was really good. I made my own concoction of sauce. Kind of a sun-dried tomato/wine/cream cheese, Italian pepper and onion, garlic and parm combo. Tonight: no clue, thinking tilapia.

Well I need help here - I bought some ground turkey. I don't use it all that often and thought maybe someone would have a recipe that would be different! I think it's Otter that uses it alot - if so - any hints??
Almost wish I had laid out hotdogs instead of ground turkey - they sound really good right now.
Hope all of you have a great day!

We make turkery burgers a lot, thought I had them posted, but couldn't find anything. Darn! Thought I'd posted a couple different ones...hope I can remember them next time! LOL I usually use celery flake, seasoned salt, garlic pepper, some lea and perrins white wine worcestershire (lea and perrins chicken marinade), seasoned bread crumbs, and egg, and usually some chopped red pepper, chopped onion (both fine chopped) and some parm cheese.

Adzell has a Dirty Bird Burger that's really good.

You being up here with me Val, I know you still haven't made dinner yet.... Lori's burgers sound really good! I don't buy ground turkey either (LOL at first I typo'd "turdey") Only thing I have done with it is make tacos a long time ago, same with the ground moose (YUK!) Strong taco seasoning was the only was to hack it! Good luck!

Well hubby solved the problem - I think?????? He is making Turkey Salisbury Steaks out of it with a jar of turkey gravy he found in the cupboard and mashed potatoes and carrots. Wow, I don't have to cook tonight - hurrah! I did tell him to doctor it up, add egg and breadcrumbs - so we shall see!
Thanks for all the advice though. If it tastes good, I have some recipes from you to use next time.
Weird weather - cool, rain then hail - then wrotten looking skies - now sunshine. Guess the weather god can't make up his mind today!
    Good evening to all!

It's have clear skies here with a nice sunset to the west, but ominous looking dark clouds to the east and north. No rain or hail here today either. Hope your Salisbury steaks were good. Sounds like they would be.

I did office work till after 8 - got the neckage and headache to prove it. Took time out for dinner at 7 - easy peasy - chicken taquitas and mozzarella sticks (both frozen from Costco) Saved the day! Now I'm going to relax with my martini! Night all!
