Tired Tuesday

    Good Morning Everyone.
Not a good sleep last night. Tossed and turned most of the night and then was wide awake around 4:00 a.m. but it was cold and dark so I stayed in bed hoping to fall back asleep but no such luck. Finally got up. A nap will be in order later today for sure.

I have chix pot pie filling in the freezer. I'll pull that out to thaw, make crust later, and make individual pies for dinner.
Will check back later to see what everyone else might be up to today.

Morning Linda! Definitely sounds like you will need to squeeze a nap in today, sorry about your rough night :( Chicken pot pie sounds delicious!

Picked up the kids, and Emma ended up staying the night here. Her Grandma is in the hospital and her Mom stayed up there all night, so I offered to keep her here. I had some strawberries begging to be used up so I just got these in the oven:

and they smell SO GOOD! Hope they taste just as good!

Bri has batting lessons at noon then I am dropping them off at Emma's Sister's house to hang out. She has a pool and hot tub and they are going to try and go swimming, but I'm pretty sure the water will be freezing, so it will probably just be hot tub time for them lol.

I didn't end up making the pork chops last night, didn't have time after getting back from my Mom's so we just swung by Jack N The Box and grabbed a bunch of tacos lol. So pork chops tonight! Enjoy your day everyone :)

Good Morning Linda! Sorry you didn't sleep well. I did the same as you but I at least didn't wake up 'til 6 a.m. I did doze a wee bit and we got up at 8:30. My SIL and niece are still not up though. :) Chicken pot pie sounds perfect. Yum.

Our game plan at this point in time is to have a leisurely breakfast and then I'm going to drive my SIL over to look at some genealogy stuff she's hunting down while Jim's brother gives him a hand with those french doors. Then we're heading into downtown Ottawa to go for a skate at the Sens Rink of Dreams next to City Hall and then out for lunch somewhere.

    I'm making
    Beef Dip
for dinner tonight with a platter of tomatoes and avocados as well as a veggie tray. Going to make Joce's crepes for brekkie.

We got a light dusting of snow overnight so it's very pretty outside. :)

Hi Janet! I think we are all still trying to get back to a regular sleeping schedule after the dang time change. I still went to bed pretty late, but was at least up earlier than I was the past few days, so hopefully tonight I'll pass out early. How long is your family staying with you? Sounds like a fun day! Your guests will love the beef dip I'm sure :)

The muffins look good Michelle and I bet the house smells real good not to mention having the oven on helps to warm things up.
Sorry to hear Emma's GM is not doing well. Hoping for the best.
I too am going to bed much too late.

I usually sleep well Janet but every now and then just don't and no reason. I think it was because I went to bed a little hungry. We ate dinner out yesterday and when we do we eat a little early and with the time change it was even earlier in that I haven't quite adapted yet. I find if I have a handful of nuts or a little snack b4 bed I sleep so much better. Beef Dip sounds wonderful!

SP Michelle! Didn't see you there! Hope Emma's Grandma is all better soon. Yum on your Muffins. Wow! Sounds like Bri is going to have a very fun afternoon.Jim's brother and fam are heading home tomorrow. I think three nights is an almost perfect length for a visit.

Make sure you get a nice little nap in this afternoon Linda!

SO QUIETTTTTT!!!! We're just home from the day in town. Had a good skate (I'm still very rusty) on the "Sens Rink of Dreams" by City Hall, then walked through the Byward Market over to "Ahora", our fave Mexican place. A good colourful place to go on a gray winter's day. I had the Steak Tostada as always and Jim had a steak Burrito as always. LOL. Home now. Jim's brother is helping him with the french doors and I think the girls are heading out for a hot tub.

Please make it stop snowing! We have about a foot and a half right now. I think the plows gave up. Haven’t seen any all day.

No nap for me today. I plowed thru the day and we even went to the gym and grocery shopping after. Made chicken pot pies for dinner ... even made an all butter pie crust. I am "whooped" though.

How are you feeling today Joce?

Nice on the ice skating Janet. I haven't been in so so many years but I did love it when I went. Yum on Mexican. Yippee on the French doors being installed. Nothing like getting all projects done before your BIG trip.

Holy Tamoly Laurie on all the snow you are getting. Pot Roast in the crockpot though is perfect.

Poor Laurie. Goodness on all that snow. Are you still going in to work? Do you have lots of groceries? Yum on Pot roast. A good meal for being snowed in. :)

Well you should sleep well today then Linda. Yum on your chicken pot pies. I should really try my hand at that again.

The guys were successful mounting the french doors and are now out in the hot tub before dinner. Jim still has to put the trim around them and do some last bit of tinkering.

Chuckieb -You are soooooo generous! We would NEVER have installation guys in our spa/hot tub - we tend to keep it pretty intimate!!!

We have French doors to our formal parlor as well as to our kitchen and family room. We love them! Do you have glass or louver/wood?

Tonight's dinner ... a basic sirloin tip stew, apple pie with homemade ice cream ... then a hot tub!

Hi and ROFL Hungrynow. The installers were my husband and his brother. Our french doors are knotty pine with glass panels. We wanted to allow the light from the front foyer to come downstairs to the rec room and I'm really glad we went that way. Your dinner sounds scrumptious. Enjoy your hot tub!
