Tuesday Tidbits

Good Morning Everyone! My day is rather up in the air at the moment. We got a call from Jim's Uncle last night. He and Jim's Aunt are in Montreal at the moment and are thinking they may stop in overnight for a visit but they're worried about driving in bad weather so they're not sure if they're coming at all or what day they are coming if they are coming. LOLOL. I'm kind of hoping that they give us a buzz by late morning with concrete plans.

So based on whether or not we're having company for dinner or what day, dinner plans are temporarily on hold.

Did you see Keni's slow cooker sausage recipe on the front page this morning? It looks to die for.

Knock on wood I think my stomach has settled from yesterday. That was just weird.

Because the weather is supposed to be the nicest today of the entire week, Jim and I planned on bringing in our patio furniture so that is still on the table. Plus I have a bunch of pumpkins around the house, inside and out, that I used for decorating and I should bring them out on the lawn, chop them up, and let the deer feast.

What's on everyone's agenda for today?

Wishing you all a grand one!

LOL @ Jim's Aunt being so indecisive, Janet:) Good luck getting the patio furniture in and chopping all the pumpkins up.
My doctor's appointment went well but now I have a slew of tests to have done. She took me in as soon as I arrived and I was out in less than 15 minutes and on my way to the pharmacy, not bad at all. I shopped while I was waiting for my prescriptions to be ready so it didn't seem so long at all. I think I am going to makeOld Fashioned Meat Pie for dinner tonight. They take a bit of time but are well worth it in the end.

    Wishing Everyone A Great Day!

    Good Morning everyone.

Keni's recipe does look good Janet! Saved. Thanks for pointing it out. That's tough to not have plans finalized. Hopefully they will let you know something soon. Happy too to hear you are feeling better. The deer are going to love you and so will the squirrels, they love pumpkin seeds.

That's great your Dr. appointment went well Joce. Tests are a pain but nice too that she is having them done. Some doctors you have to twist their arms. Your meat pie recipe looks good!

I'm at the vets office waiting for LD, he is being groomed and after he sees the vet for his yearly checkup. It'll be about noon when I finally get home so I'll make lunch and then start some prep on things for thanksgiving. I'll make pie crust today and cranberry sauce. Tomorrow I'll bake a pumpkin pie and prep the turkey breast for the crockpot, and tear up bread for stuffing to dry. Then Thursday I'll pull it all together. It takes 3 days of cooking, 20 minutes to eat, and hours of cleanup. Oh well. It's worth it though.

Jim was a little ruffled by his Aunt and Uncle's indecision but I excuse them...they do worry a lot about driving conditions and they're both well in to their '70's, so whatever. :)

We got a call at 9:20 saying they would be here for dinner. :) So the patio furniture and the pumpkins may get bumped.

Glad your Dr.'s appointment went so quickly yesterday Joce. Meat Pie sounds like a perfect November dinner. YUM!

    I'm going to make
Dijon Pork Tenderloin With Rosemary And Thyme
tonight, with Baked Rice, asparagus and a plate of sliced tomatoes. Dessert will be blueberries with lemoncello drizzled over them. Pretty easy.

Hope L.D.'s things go well. Yum on your Thanksgiving prep.

Gotta make a run into town and do a quick clean of the house. Later alligators!

LD's appointment went well. He's a healthy "senior" boy and his haircut looks great. Vet wants me to start a supplement for his joints and I have no problem doing that. I can order it and it's not a drug or anything, no different than the vitamin supplements he takes now just adding something for joint health.

Your Pork Tenderloin recipe is definitely company worthy Janet. Understandable their indecision and glad they committed, I hope they are not the type to run late. I had family that use to do it to me ... always came an hour or two later and finally I stopped having them over for meals. That was years ago.

Glad to hear LD is healthy and dapper Linda! Not expecting Jim's Aunt and Uncle to be late. They are very gracious guests. It's simply driving that gets them in a tizzy. They said they'd take their time but would be here before dark and it gets dark here at 4:30 - 5 p.m. so all will be well.

Ran to the store and got some asparagus and blueberries. Have a few things prepped already although my tenderloin is still frozen. Jim has shovelled off the front walkway and straightened things outside up a bit. He swept and did a quick wash of the floors for me too. I knew he was sweeping but he said he wasn't going to damp mop. I did it when I came home and then he says "Were the floors okay?". "Yes" I said, "Why?" Cuz I damp mopped too. Argh. So now they are extra clean. LOL.

Forgot to mention ... Baileys Irish Creme has some new flavors and I was wanting to try some but nobody has small bottles and at $27 I just didn't want to venture it. Had ask on the Refugees group if anyone tried them and one person did and said what she tried was good. When at the Winn Dixie getting wine they were on sale for $20 so I bought Chocolate Cherry and Espresso Creme and both are to die-for scrumptious! So nice to have a cordial at night while relaxing. What a nice treat!

Good evening and hello to all. Sorry I've been not so frequent here but been busting my behind with work so I can take tomorrow off! So want to just be able to bake and prep for Thanksgiving. I can honestly say, Yes, it's gonna happen! Hubs and Cayce will be able to handle things as it's slowing down now a bit, as usual before Thanksgiving. They have a full day but won't need me! WooHoo! That in it's self is a treat for me. Have desserts to make tomorrow and get everything organized for the big day on Thursday. Need to do just a bit of cleaning. Just vacuum and one bathroom so not so bad. Might run the mop thru the kitchen late tomorrow if I make too bad of a mess. Lol, which I probably will! It's just the immediate family with my daughter's beau and his little girl so no need to fret too much. Originally her beau's mom was going to join us but her plans have changed. She is generally with his sister but they thought they would be out of town and now I guess they won't be. Thought about inviting the lot of them to join us but...........the thought passed, lol. Am I bad for that?! But hubs has been a bit under the weather lately. He has a health situation that cannot be remedied until the first of the year and I don't want to put any extra stress on him. With just our small group, if he needs to go lay down he can without feeling like he needs to be a host, as we have not yet met the mom, sister and her husband. I will explain what is going on with him another time. He's fine now but he has heart issues that could become serious without the upcoming surgery that he needs.

So loving Keni's sausage recipe. Definately need to put that on the long list. Hubs would love it! Good your Dr. appointment went well Joce. Also good LD is in tip top shape! I can completely understand Jim's Aunt and Uncle being concerned about driving in weather. Dinner sounds amazing as usual.

Well, must toddle off. Don't have to mention it is my cheese night. The one night of the week that I adore, lol!

Hope all enjoy the rest of the evening.

    Sleep Cheesy Sweet All....................as always................

Glad your company is scheduled. We are in our seventies but Wayne drives thru anything except major ice storms and millennial floods....ha ha. I am, however, a fair weather driver only. Enjoy.

Your menu sounds great, Linda. Glad LD is doing well. I will have to check the espresso Bailey's. Yum.

Hi Kimmer. Hope your hubby continues to do well.

Joce, it is always nice to have little waiting time at doctors' offices?

Finished shopping for Thanksgiving. Could only find a ten pound turkey. Guess we waited too long. It is fine for four people but really miss the idea of leftover turkey! Our Thanksgiving will be on Friday.

Cold tonight....24 F! We are running the RV to be dewinterizd tomorrow.. Japanese beetles found their way inside somehow we are back we will have to bug bomb it! I hate those bugs.

Fritz was in the RV, got frightened when we moved one of sliders in. He flew out the door. He came when he was called, stood there shaking. Poor dog.

GS came down with migraine so took him home early. Had pizza for supper. Tomorrow will be spaghetti with concocted venison sauce. Don't know about Thursday since we will not be celebrating until Friday.
