Wednesday Woes

  • MissouriFarmWife 6 years ago
Not really woes. Dog gate did not get latched so Fritz had access to the back porch. He gets into trouble there far too easily.

We keep looking at the window for a fuzzy cat to glare at me for being slow to feed him. It will take a while.

Planing a late June RV trip. Hoping the sites have internet. Wayne's buddy is leaving to take care of his dad, who has gone downhill rapidly.

Rain due today but it is spotty. Hoping no hail!

Will try to post picture but the iPhone is goofy....ha ha.

Good Morning Karen! Lovely photos of Geezer. Beautiful cat! It will take a while for you not to turn around and expect to see him. :( Very fun on the RV trip in June. Do most RV sites have internet these days? I know the National Parks in Canada were having a big debate years ago about whether they should have wifi hot spots or not.

Am on my second cup of coffee and then need to run down on to the treadmill for a work out. A quick brekkie and then out the door as we've been invited to lunch at a relative of Jim's in Almonte. They do genealogy together and it's very cute. :)

NO clue what to do for dinner. I may just wing it. Also hoping to stop in to one or two new garden centers out Almonte way that I've never been to before. Just need a few more things.

Sens won last night 2-1. What a game. I was beside myself. Bring on Thursday!

We SP'd yesterday Linda, and I hadn't seen your post about the move for your DH. So glad it went better than you expected.

Bren, your lentil salad sounds really yummy. I've never had the Costco version. Let me know when you have it all worked out!

    Have a great day everyone!

    Good Morning Everyone.!

Beautiful pictures of Geezer Karen. He is a very good looking cat, handsome. I know you miss him and it does take time to adjust when you have become so ingrained with them. I know this all too well. Sorry to hear about Wayne's friend's dad, prayers to him for comfort and peace.

Enjoy your jaunt today Janet. Drive safe.

Will go visit DH mid today and then need to get back to meet with the attorney this afternoon. In that everything has changed I know our legal affairs need to be updated and will find out what all needs to be done to hopefully protect assets and most important him if anything happens to me. I hate this stuff!!
Expecting a bad storm to roll in late day, perhaps this evening, then into tomorrow. Not sure of it's arrival but also want to stop at the grocery store for a few needed items and then will just stay put for the evening and catch up on paperwork. Starting to get organized. How and when did life become so complicated?
Well I guess I better get myself going ... catch up with everyone later.

Any news yet on Camden Joce? You're little angel is in my daily prayers.

    Hi Janet.

Garden spots are addictive. Wayne lets me handle planting, he doesn't like the whole process. I am a bit surprised how much we do miss Geezer. He led a good life with us the last eleven years.

Wayne is fixing copycat egg mcmuuffins. I seldom eat breakfast but will try one for sure.
May mow the yard if it dries out enough and the spotty storms miss us. It is hit and miss, very spotty.

Mauser is on my lap. Fritz is in Wayne's recliner. It is a quiet morning in the Ozarks.

    See you later.

    SP Linda.

Things will be easier once you get into a new "normal" routine. You are way ahead of the game looking into ways to safeguard assets, etc. We have things pretty well set except for putting the land into a trust.

Beautiful pictures of Geezer, Karen. It will take some time to adjust. Nice, you are planning an RV trip in June. Gee, I hope you don't get any hail! I love copycat McMuffins.
Enjoy your lunch and jaunt around the Almonte garden centers, Janet. Yes wasn't that a good game!
Glad DH is in his new home and trying to settle in, Linda. A very good idea to make sure all your legal affairs are in order. I hope you get some much-needed rain but not as much of a storm. As far as I know they are waiting until Camden gets stronger before operating. She is hooked up to all the bells and whistles until then so she is monitored 24/7. She is getting stronger and stronger each day. Thanks for your prayers:)

I am making Weiner Schnitzel for dinner with creamy chive potatoes and steamed asparagus with Hollandaise Sauce for dinner tonight. Wishing everyone a great day!

Morning! It's busy in here so early! An RV trip sounds fun Karen. That's so nice of Wayne to take care of his buddy. Cute pics. Of Geezer! I know he is missed.

Have fun at lunch today Janet! Yay on your Sens :)

Hi Linda, hope you get back before the storm hits! Like Karen said..you'll get into a routine and everything will eventually feel normal :)

I'm so sorry to hear about Camden Joce, I just read up on that. Glad to hear she is getting stronger, she has Angels watching over her :) yum on your dinner!

At the gym then I just have a few errands to run Like usual lol. Monday morning I wrote up a whole long post with pics. And when I hit post it disappeared. I was SO mad and frustrated. Haven't had a chance to get back since.

As many of y'all know from FB our girls got 2nd place in District! We Played 9 games over the weekend and won 7. It was a LONG weekend. The girls got their first rings so it was really cool :)

Not sure about dinner..probably chicken since we haven't had it in a while. Gotta search some recipes! Have a great Wednesday everyone!!

Good news to hear Camden is getting stronger. Werner Schnitzel sounds so good!

So frustrating when posts disappear. When using the laptop I have been known to write the post on word processing program and copy on the post. If it goes away I can retrieve it! Read the FB post on the girls' District games....they must be happy!

Will mow yard shortly .... Wayne is mowing close to trees etc. so I don't freak out for fear I hit one. Ha ha.

    See you later.

Good afternoon to all. A delightful 75F here right now. Had a day of rain, blustery winds and a couple thunderstorms. Was great! Got out early and got most of my errands done before the weather hit. Couldn't finish all but that's ok. Chloe and I are enjoying the back porch right now. First afternoon at this time we have been able to be out here in quite a few days. Won't last but we will take it while we have it.

Good to hear little Camden is getting stronger. Bless her heart. Prayers on going! I'm sure you miss Geezer Karen and yes what a beautiful kitty!

Change in plans for dinner tonight and not sure what it will be. Was planning on making oven baked chicken tacos but Benny came home from work and informed me that they were going to the Rays game with dad tonight and leaving at 5:00. Was kind of last minute this morning but he assumed Cayce had told me since he was with me all day. I even mentioned to Cayce that we were having tacos tonight and he didn't say a word except "yummy"! Ggrrrr, one of my errands this morning was getting the special stand up shells for the baked tacos! But that's ok it can wait for a different night. No point in wasting all that for just two people. Just have to now figure out something for hubs and I. Thinking might use up the kielbasa from cheese night with maybe some fried potatoes. Will see what hubs thinks. If it wasn't so damp and still a slight rain I would suggest going out for a bite. But really don't feel like it and don't think hubs would either.

Linda, did you get any stormy weather down your way. Glad the move went well. And yes you will fall into a routine. Good idea getting all the legal things done. Gentle hugs......

Off to go put on a different shirt. In a tank top right now and between the damp and breeze, I'm kinda of cold, lol! When you are used to 95F for more than a week and then suddenly it's 20 degrees cooler and damp, hey......seems cold!

Hope all enjoy the rest of the day.

What a fun day! Just got home an hour and a half or so ago. Jim's relatives put out a full course meal for lunch. Appies of some spicy samosas and then Jerk Pork for the main. Steamed green beans, a potato salad, and a greek cucumber tomato salad as sides. Plus...apple pie and ice cream for dessert. We're still full!!!! Jim and George got tons done on their Family tree and we had a lovely visit. We were there for over five hours!!! LOLOL. On the way home I stopped in to a garden centre and bought two more perennials for the rock garden and a super cute flying pig garden ornament for my Mom. Picked up the ingredients to make
    Toasted Mushroom Bread
which I will pop in the oven in a half hour and we'll eat around 8:30.

Hope things went well at the attorneys Linda. How was your DH today? Hope the storms skirted around you.

That's awesome news that Camden is getting stronger and stronger Joce.Your dinner sounds crazy good!

The girls sure did well in the tournament Michelle. They get rings??? That's pretty cool. Just like the super bowl!!! :)

Did you get your mowing done Karen? LOL @ letting Wayne go around the trees first so you won't take one out. :)

Fun that the boys are going to the Rays Game Kimmer. Do you have the oven baked chicken taco recipe posted? I'd be interested in seeing that. I like those stand up shells. Kielbassa with fried potatoes sounds yummy to me. I bought a lovely big pkg. of cheesie smokie sausages today. So addictive!

When we got home I still had breakfast dishes out on the counter, hadn't put away the clean dishes from the dish washer nor made coffee for tomorrow morning. The day just went by. LOL. Our forecast is still saying we may get a thunder storm over night and then tomorrow is going to be cloudy and rainy. Might be a good opportunity to plant more things in the garden. The rain may dissuade the mosquitoes.

Sounds like you had a wonderful day, Janet. I would be stuffed after that lunch, also. Yum.

Mowing is finished. I used the Zero turn mower .... it makes quick work of lawn and barnyard. Wayne did the close trimming and icky areas that hive me the willies. Like the slopes that are a bit tricky.

We have chance of severe storms Saturday, so will likely have GS here since daughter is terrified of them. She doesn't want him alone at home. He would sleep thru the storm and not hear the sirens. Of course, around us there are no sirens to hear. We depend on the weather radio. Or seeing it moving our way.

    Have a nice evening.

It was windy here all day Kimmer but hot then around 4:30 ish the rain rolled in and we got a nice storm that lasted maybe 1/2 hour or so then rolled out. It cooled down to 78(f) and the wind stoped. They say more rain and wind may roll thru so who knows but glad we got the rain.

I visited DH today and got there while he was eating lunch. He is sooooo happy to see me. I sat with him while he ate then we went back to his room. I brought some more items for him and he communicated some other things he wanted. I was tired so we watched some tv and I rested my head in his lap then it was off to see the attorney. My God, everything is so complicated but first I'll have to get legal guardianship (need to check if that actually happened Friday and if so were is the doc), then I'll have to set up trusts for me, move joint assets to my name, set another trust up for his needs if something happens to me, and on and on. It's a lot but it's gotta get done.

Happy to hear Camden is getting stronger Joce, and may she continue to do so.

Your afternoon sounded fabulous Janet, that was some lunch too!

Congrats to the girls Michelle! Major league ball players don't play as many games as the girls do ... my goodness on 9 games over a weekend!

Don't feel bad Janet, I just cleaned up my dishes from this morning too.

We've been going through a "Prairienado" all day. Super windy with wind gust's between 90km and 104km an hour! Power outages everywhere, trees down, power poles down, roads closed etc..We lost at least 4 trees. The trampoline took off like a flying saucer and cutting our cherry tree in half. After I secured it between the shed and fire pit it stayed for a few hours then flipped over the fence taking another tree out. I tried and tried to move it but the wind is too strong. We wedged the safety-net poles into the fence so it won't budge now. When the wind dies down tomorrow we'll retrieve it and clean up the mess. And what a mess it is out there! The trampoline is broken, the safety net ruined but the leg poles are all bent up too. I've lived through huge wind storms like this on the west coast, but there's nothing breaking the wind here in the prairies! It was scary!

I'll catch up tomorrow. Have a good night everyone!

It seems you are making progress, Linda. It looks like DH Is adjusting to his new home, and you are making progress.

Wow on the storm, Shona. I just hibernate when the winds get that bad. We still have a blue tarp wrapped around some tree branches in the yard....looks really weird but Wayne is NOT climbing 35 to 40 feet to release it.

We are expecting three dry days .... perfect for haying but we have no one to help and neither of us can buck hay any more. Aargh!

    Have a good evening.
