Wednesday's Wreath

Good Morning Everyone! How is everyone doing this morning (pointedly looking at Joce???) LOL!

We got a bit more snow overnight. It's very pretty. -15C/5F. We're supposed to get a few more flurries this morning and then clearing up this afternoon. Did Den go in to work today Joce?

Jim's talking about going in to town to finish his Christmas shopping and I think I'd like to stay home and finish my Christmas cards. I think I might make Hamburgers for dinner this evening with a potato salad on the side. Not sure if I have any buns on hand but I'll have to check.

Kimmer and I jinxed the Escort Ads yesterday. ROFL! Oops. Shall do a little bumping over in IMI to get the ads off the front page.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Good Morning all ... I love the chicken wreath Janet. It's so cute!

The Big Apple Cinnamon Muffins are one of my favorite! Yesterday I used brown sugar but cut the sugar back by about half and used buttermilk instead of milk. I topped them with crushed walnuts and not the sugar cinnamon topping. Still great!
I order the Vietnamese cinnamon from King Arthur Flour's site Karen. You may have to find an on-line source for the Ceylon.
What I don't like about Japanese Hibachi is the lack of vegetables Janet. It's all stir fried rice and everything has soy sauce which makes me thirsty the rest of the night because of the sodium. The side vegetables are zucchini, tons of onion, a few slices of carrot, a handful of broccoli pieces, and a little napa cabbage. Even when I order extra vegetables it just doesn't do it for me.

Did you find your keys yet Karen? Bummer on Wayne forgetting his wallet and changing your plans. Hope DD and GS feel better soon and that you all don't catch what they have.

I wish Marie and Shona both would reconsider and come back here to chat. Changing your email doesn't seem to help and I bet if she logged back on with the old one it'd work. I wish the guy who "domains" this site would just offer it up to someone here.

No plans yet for today ... too early.

If I lived closer to my Mom I'd so make her that wreath Linda as she raised chickens when I was a teenager and she'd love it too. LOLOL @ the lack of veggies in Japanese Hibachi. I didn't realize that as the Japanese are pretty vegetable oriented over all. Indeed soy sauce is a sodium issue. I really can't believe that someone can't come up with a truly low sodium soy sauce. The low sodium in the stores is still high sodium and the regular stuff is off the charts. Neat on the meteor shower. I'll peek out the window. :)

Morning!! Hamburgers sound delicious Janet!! Ugh on the escort ads, they are starting to be of different topics now it looks like, maybe they are getting tired of being ignored and trying something new?

I see what your saying about the hibachi Linda, the one's around us do a good job on the veggie amounts. Did y'all end up going last night? That is such a good idea to have Kris hand over the site to someone, wish he would do that but I don't think he even comes around enough to see if anyone offers!! Too cool on the meteor shower!! I'll have to Google it to see time's, I'm up by 5am so I wonder....

I am going to wait to make baked fish (Bri's request) until Michael is off of nights. I don't want him heating up seafood at work and making everyone mad lol :-P So I have no clue of what I'm making!! Just tiptoeing around today while Michael sleeps. I have some laundry to do and that's about it. Have a great day everyone!!

Morning Michelle. LOL @ not wanting to make Michael heat up seafood at work. That used to be one of Jim's pet peeves at the office. LOLOL. It is a nasty smell in the ole lunch room alright! Good luck with the laundry.

You would think Janet that there would be an assortment of great veggies considering it's almost like stir fry. I think they load you up on the rice because it's cheap and fills up the plate. Other places do noodles too but the one DH likes only does the rice.

Good idea on holding off making fish Michelle. Reheats just are not that good for seafood anyhow. Yes we went to DaRuMa. Patrick noted he would love to take over the site and has been trying for 2 years with no response.

Here is a blurb from Penzeys site about Vietnamese Cinnamon ... "Vietnamese cinnamon is the strongest, richest, and sweetest cinnamon around. For traditional cinnamon recipes such as gooey cinnamon rolls, the vibrant flavor of Vietnamese cinnamon really shines. It is so strong, that in most recipes it should be cut back by about a third, but it is perfect used full strength in any recipe where cinnamon is the main, delicious flavor. Ground, from Vietnam."
Karen ... FYI ... Penzeys sells Ceylon too.

    God morning. Hi to everyone!

Agree no reheating fish at the office.

Love the chicken wreath! At first I read the post to say you and Kimmer joined the escort ads. Lousy eyesight! LOL!

Linda, Ceylon cinnamon is available thru Amazon. I will look into their website.

Notice a new bad site appeared along with quasi-porn recipes.

GR has been sold, I believe. Judging from the new ads cropping up the owners are not concerned with the quality issue. Although the ads are much less annoying than the porn! The latest company I heard of is out of Toronto, but that could change again.

The ads are controlled thru Sheknows.com, according to the pop up comments on the home page, which claims to be a site empowering women dealing with women's issues--- Wonder why they put degrading pornographic groups on which demean women? Ha!

Missing Marie and Shona. Hate it when the bad guys mess up a site!

    Keep up the bumping!

I just don't get the ads and postings here of all places. It makes no sense and not one person from hear generates any business for them. I swear it's someone who gets their jollies and that's all.

ROFL @ thinking Kimmer and I joined the Escort Ads. If you can't beat em' join em'? LOLOLOL.

Jim and I took a spin. There's a little gift shop close by that was advertising tree toppers and we've been looking for a new one for years. Jim wants a star but we can never see one we really love or that both of us agree on. What do the rest of you use on the top of your tree? A star, an angel?

The roads are slippery so Jim decided not to go into town. We'll both go tomorrow. We dropped a bunch of cards in the mail at the Post Office and also grabbed some paint brushes at the hardware store. I picked up buns for the hamburgers.

Just putting this out there ... I know Joce has access to our group if something needs to be deleted (not sure what else an admin can do) ... is there another person? or can another be added? Thoughts anyone.

If I remember correctly, she can delete posts but can not change the avatar. That was a long time back, and my recollections are not always the best. Don't know if any one else can handle any admin stuff.

Hello to all. Just a quick Hi here. It's taco night here and need to run out to the store for sour cream. Could have sworn I had a new tub of it but I probably used it.

Hope all enjoy the rest of the day. Will try to pop back in a bit.

Janet, I sent you a PM.
