http://crowhillassociates.com/58-market-basket-another-rebellion-begins-in-massachusetts. This article really explains the situation here mostly in Massachusetts. It's just such a crazy thing!
It's gonna be in the 90's today hopefully someone brings those picketers some water!
I think it will be stuffed peppers for dinner tonight.
Had a glass of wine last night now I have such a headache this morning. This is why I don't drink red wine

Laurie, Good Morning....Joy looks like Molly. Molly walks around the house all day with that tennis ball in her mouth. She had one go under my bed and she sat there 3 hours staring at it to make sure it didn't go anywhere. LOL
Cute pic of Rachel, she is beautiful. Love the caption.
I do hope someone will bring water to the picketers as well. I'm sure they are sweltering.
    Stuffed peppers sound so good.

I think besides my brussel sprouts (fresh), I'll make a salad with La Feria Secret Sauce, rice pilaf and a turkey tenderloin (turkey rubbed down with an herbal paste-chimichurri style).

Will be on the phone to HR and short term disability case worker to see what options I have available. I can't imagine working in this condition. Ay yi yi.

Tina, good luck with the caseworker..I can't imagine you going back to work either!
I need to make some more La Feria..love the stuff:)

I've been awake since 4:30 or so, what the heck is up with that? Just having coffee and watching the morning news...like Rick said, I'll be taking a nap around 10:00 haha

Grilled Rosemary chicken, brussel sprouts & spring salad with dried cranberries & feta tonight for dinner:)

I'll check back in after I have another cup of coffee..have a lovely day everyone:)

    Good Morning Everyone!
That is quite an interesting thing that' happening with Market Basket in Mass. Laurie. And a good thing. Sorry on your headache. Lovely pictures! And your dinner last night sounded wonderful!
Morning Tina! I am way past due getting a La Feria fix. God I love that stuff. OOooo on the Turkey tenderloin rubbed down with Herbal Chimichurri! Goodness! I too can't imagine you have to return to work tomorrow. And can't you get a note from the Dr. saying that is not at all recommended? Fred's cheeseburgers sounded scrumptious.
I went in with Jim for 8:15 to the Oral Surgeon yesterday morning. I fully expected him to be out again in ten minutes or so and when a half hour had past I started to get a bit worried. Okay....a lot worried. Anyway, sure enough he comes out and says he is totally okay and that he sat in the room for 25 minutes until the Dr. finally came in, took one look at him and pronounced him totally fine no questions about it. He said everyone has hairs on their tongue and for whatever reason some hairs on either side of Jim's have worn off, resulting in little dots that forms a 'line'. And then he says THE FUNNIEST SENTENCE of all time "You're the first patient I've seen today that didn't have to have anything cut out of their head." OMG!
Joce did I miss something that happened to Lori's Dad? How exciting on the new windows!
LOL Marie that brussel sprouts make you think of me! Every time I see that word I involuntary cringe. Seriously. :) Yum on your sausages and hotdogs though. Today is National Hot Dog Day I think! The chicken and your salad sounds wonderful. Ugh on waking up so early! :(
Sounds like you had a most lovely summer day yesterday Michelle. Gringo's has a HUGE menu! I'd choose the Fish Tacos just because I haven't got to try them yet! :)
I had a great time out with my girlfriends yesterday. Lots of hearty laughter! :) Good for the soul for sure. We went to the Black Bear Pub for lunch.
    http://www.bay-street-bistro.com/all_day
I ordered the Fish n' Chips thinking it was safe Pub food and it was HORRID! Thick coating and the fish wasn't even a filet, it was like ground up. Bleck. Jim and I went out for dinner after he was done work and went to the Dinner Buffet at the East India Company and thankfully that made up for it entirely. :)
I'm not sure what to make for dinner this evening. We're supposed to get some rain this morning.
    Wishing everyone a great day!

So glad that Jim got the all clear. Crazy bedside manner of his doctor! I'm glad you had a good lunch with lots of laughter, too bad the food was not fulfilling. yum on your dinner!

Well, I have a stay of execution....umm, return to work date has been moved back a week. Thank Heavens, I can not lift my arms over my shoulders, too weak...pain is back with a vengeance. Absence of pain for one day was miraculous and to have it hurt again is just unfair.

I used my mini processor to chop up shallots, garlic, red wine vinegar, parsley, some dried rosemary, red pepper flakes, oregano, S&P and olive oil. It is rubbed on the turkey tender and sitting in the frig. It smells so good. Ever since I had it at El Gallo Grande, I've been craving it. I'm going to ask Olivia to do the cooking since I can't seem to move today.
I did the hard part....pushing the button and eye balling the ingredients.

Thanks Tina! :) So pleased to hear that you get an extra week to heal. My goodness! Your turkey would go so well with the Beet Carpaccio salad that I want to make tonight! If I had a turkey breast I'd be doing a copycat thing. I'm trying to think of a fairly simple yet nice thing to do with a pc. of meat and then serve the Beet Carpaccio on the side. I don't want the meat to have too much stuff on it, eg. cheese, sauce, etc. as the Salad has a whole lot of fresh flavours going on. I'll have to roam through some recipes.
Was just outside. Did a wee bit of sanding on the deck in anticipation of staining later this week and also watered a spot on the lawn that I had re-seeded in the spring. I know they forecast rain for today but if I don't turn that sprinkler on it just won't happen I know it! :) And then I went out into the garden and brought in a nice bunch of fresh leaf lettuce and a whole bunch of basil. Am going to make a batch of pesto later.

    Okay...got it!
Rock Cornish Game Hens With Crab Stuffing
For the first time, I'm just going to make one hen and then split it between Jim and I. Lately when I've made one each we have SO much leftover.

The very best of luck to those picketers, Laurie. They seem to have oodles of support and they seem like they have been railroaded, Big Time in that report! I do hope they succeed! I have always been told it is the tannin in red wine that causes headaches for many people and it isn't in white wines. Cute pic of Rachel and Joy:) LOL Hoover used to walk around with two tennis balls in his mouth:)

Tina, Good luck dealing with HR:) I think you shouldn't go back until you get your health issues all figured out! Yum! I love turkey and never think to buy it at this time of the year! Let alone ever seeing just a turkey tenderloin for sale here! Good to hear you at least are off for one more week! Yes let Liv and or Fred help you as much as they can! Take good care of yourself Kiddo!

Marie, You were up before the birds this morning! I do hope you can have a wee nap today if you can. LOL Brussels sprouts seems to be the theme of the day! I think of Janet, as well when you mention them along with kale, broccoli, zucchini, green peppers and on and on:)

Janet, BIG OOPS! I must have thought I read about Lori's Dad too??? BIG MISTAKE! I apologize BIG TIME FOR THAT! I am glad there was nothing wrong with Jim's tongue:) I had to go to a couple of those oral surgeon guys, b/c of my burning tongue and I expected them to take a biopsy or something? They both said they couldn't see anything and I was out in no time at all! Apparently every time we go to the dentist for cleanings etc. they keep a very good eye on the health of the inside of your mouth. They would have sent him without hesitation if they saw something suspicious! My dental hygienist is always trying to help me with my tongue. She has three or four others with “Burning Tongue Syndrome” and they still don't know what causes it? UGH! I wouldn't like what you ordered either! GROSS! I think I would have sent it right back! What did Jim order and did he like it? Glad you at least totally enjoyed your dinner:) Your dinner sounds lovely:)

Michelle, LOL I wasn't sure where you were either when you were enjoying yourself at Palm Beach under a big blue umbrella:) Gringos has a very cool menu of things I have never tried! I think I would try their “Border Sampler” it looks like it has a bit of everything:)

I have a bunch of errands to run today. Picking up a meds and mailing a BD present at the Post Office. Buying a new toaster, our very old very vintage 1960's one still works great, but I would like one with bigger slots. I will carefully put our old one away for safe keeping. I also need a tension rod to hold up a temporary curtain for the bay window, after they put new window in. Then off to get some groceries and to Foodsmith's before I come home. Dinner is yet to be determined, I might find something interesting when I am out?
Hoping everyone has a nice day!

Janet, here is a link to the deck sealer I mentioned. http://www.behr.com/consumer/products/wood-stains-finishes-cleaners-and-strippers/behr-solid-color-deckover-stain
I definitely think a single bird shared would be a delicious supper with the Beet Carpaccio.

Good luck with all the running today Joce. Wears me out just thinking about your errands.

Have a good day all. I'm down for a nap. Went to bed at 3 am and woke at 7 am. and I'm petering out fast. I probably won't sleep but rest ease the aches.

Hi Joce! Yes, it was good that Jim's Dentist referred him to the Oral Surgeon 'just incase' but it's just always so scary when you hear the C-word as I said. :( They sure are watching things closer these days alright. We notice that both at the Optometrist and the Dentist they're checking blood pressures and looking at other health issues as well as just teeth and eyes. A good thing I guess. Glad to hear nothing is wrong with Lori's Dad. :) I got the yucky Fish n' Chips at the Pub with my girlfriends, not Jim. One friend had the Chicken Pot Pie and one had the Steak sandwich and they both seemed to like theirs. I know I should have sent it back but I do hate to cause a scene and between the fun conversation and my french fries I was good. :) Good luck with your errands.
Thanks for the link to that fancy Behr deck stain Tina. That really does look intriguing. I have 3/4 can of the old stuff left downstairs that i'll use up this time but will definitely keep that in mind for next time and there's always a next time. :) Have a good rest.

Good afternoon! Hi Laurie :) I bet those picketers are very thirsty in that heat, yikes! I love stuffed peppers but my family doesn't so I never get to make them. Enjoy! Cute pics.
Tina, your dinner sound delicious...I need to try that La Feria sauce to see what it's all about! It's so good to hear you got an extra week off, you sound like you desperately need it.
Hi Marie 4:30 is early! Did you get a nap in? Yummy sounding dinner!
Lol at what the doctor said Janet! How do so many people get things stuck in their heads?!?! Weird. I'm glad Jim's okay though! Yuck on ground up fried fish...I can't imagine! Yum on your cornish hens, I haven't had those in forever!
Joce, I love the sound of your vintage toaster! Have fun buying a new one :)
Wow we are all very tired today! I think the sun beat us all up yesterday lol. Bri's been in her room watching movies all day on her Kindle and Caiden's just been following me around the house talking my ear off while I get some cleaning done. Michael had to go into work today but will be home earlier than usual. For dinner tonight I'm just going to saute some potatoes, bell peppers and turkey sausage (& chicken for the kids) with some seasonings. I need a nap! Have a good rest of the day :)

Hi Michelle! do try the La Feria sauce.....if's ah-mazing! No wonder you guys are playing it easy today. You had a very busy day yesterday with a lot of sunshine and fresh air. That'll tucker you out every time! :) In a good way! Nice that Michael will be home earlier than usual.
I'm about to make a batch of pesto. Thought I had lots in the freezer but could do with a bit more to last me 'til next summer. Lazy day on my end but getting lots of puttering and little jobs done. :) No rain thus far. Bet it will pass over. The temps have cooled though so that's really nice.
My Mom called and said that she's decided that she is going to put her house up for sale next spring. That's a big step for her but I'll admit I'm pleased about it. It's a big house and property for her to tend to and I really think she'll enjoy some socializing at the Senior's Home.

Good that your mom came to that decision to sell the house. The Senior's home is a good choice when you are so far apart.

Changed our meal plan...got some fresh crab from Hello Fresh and I'm going to make crab risotto with lemon and wilted arugula. BS on the side. Turkey can marinate til tomorrow.

Liv went to get her schedule and meet some friends. Fred is working on the pool pump.

later dears, I hear something bubbling too fast.
