Yadseut Tuesday!

  • chuckieb 6 years ago
Yadseut? (Tuesday spelled backwards.....yes...I'm desperate for a thread title!!!!) LOLOL!

Good Morning Everyone! I had a HORRIBLE sleep. Ugh. I have no idea why, but I couldn't fall asleep at all last night. We went to bed at 11 and the last time I looked at the clock it was 1:30 and I still hadn't dozed. :(

Not too much on the agenda today. I want to take down all winter decorations as by the time we return it will be spring and I don't want snowmen welcoming me when I come through the door. :) I'll also give the house a quick clean so it's in good shape for our return as well.

Not a flipping clue what to make for dinner (or lunch for that matter) but I'll go root around the freezer and see what I can come up with.

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ARE GOING TO GET MORE SNOW LAURIE!!!! Holy Kamoly!!!! You need a tropical vacation for sure. :) That's hilarious that you actually dreamed about GR. LOLOL.

Your dinner out sounded fabulous Linda! And yes...both Jim and I suffer jet lag when we travel. It honestly seems to take about a week to feel normal again. Taiwan is 12 hours ahead of us so it throws off ones sleep and eating schedules big time.

Glad your back is a bit better this week Karen!

    Wishing everyone a good day!

Read an article online this morning that Pink Himalayan sea salt is actually not good for a person? I don't always trust these articles, but I am curious.

Great title, Janet! too bad you had such a bad night's sleep:( In answer to your question this is not a private group so I don't need to accept anyone. I can block someone if they are being a menace though. good idea to take down your outside decorations so you won't have to greet them when you come back from Taiwan. How long is your flight this time as I recall you mentioned this time you were going on a direct flight.? Does it fly up over the Arctic to save millage? I haven't heard about Pink Himalayan salt is bad for a person. Salt isn't good for anyone maybe that is their reason for saying that?

OH NO, Laurie! I have heard them talking about another Norwester coming! Crazy and then our poor East Coast gets hammered again as well. Bring on Spring the way it should be!
I have an appointment for a blood test at 1:30 and I am still fasting. After that, I need to pick up a few things at a couple of stores. Not sure what we are having for dinner yet.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Good Morning Ladies and Happy 1st Day of SPRING!!

Cute thread title Janet. It works for me. I hate those kind of nights when you can't fall asleep and for no good reason. Maybe you are unconsciously super excited and getting worked up about your trip?
I'm in the no clue dinner category also today. Maybe I'll make Hobo Dinners, they are easy enough and I have everything and I want to go out this afternoon to a plant nursery and don't want to be bothered making a big fancy dinner when we get home.
Good Idea to take down all the winter decorations, after all it is officially SPRING today. Your squirrels and birds are going to miss you while you are gone.
I hope the article you read is wrong because I use Pink Himalayan salt. Yikes!

Hi Janet. LOL on snowman removal!

The last time we went overseas I did great on jet lag, recuperated quickly. That was 38 years ago so things have changed a lot.

We have GS duty tonight thru Thursday, I think. Friday he stays over.

It snowed a bit this morning....just flurries....and melted as soon as it hit the ground. Guessing we will not have a fire bec Wayne will be running errands and we pick up GS later. I have stuff to do that the sun room will be utilized, so no need to keep the lr warm!

Best go. His buddy and gf are on the way for coffee. See you later.

Morning!! LOVE the Tuesday spelled backwards title Janet :P. Ugh on your lack of sleep :( well that sucks if that article is true about the Himalayan salt. That's what I use all the time because I thought it was healthier?!

Good luck at your doctors appt. Joce, ugh on fasting for so long, hope it's quick so you can get out of there and eat!

We had a very busy weekend and then yesterday I just played catch up around the house, tons of laundry, dishes and cleaned dirty bathrooms. At the gym now then I have errands to run. I may make a dessert today, brownies or cookies? Will be making a hash for dinner with my leftover corned beef, that hopefully I can get all the clove flavor off of by washing it off, crossing fingers!! Have a great day everyone!!

SP Karen and Michelle! Too funny ... everyone is waking up at the same time.

With GS duty Karen do you get the puppy too?

Oh no on your clove flavored Corned Beef Michelle. The best recipe I've used is Mauigirl's from A.R. I don't make it often because DH hates the smell of corned beef but it is soooo good!

Oh ya....LOLOL...it's true Joce. I was thinking that you had to accept people in to ODD but you're absolutely right. LOL. Can't even blame lack of sleep because I asked the question last night. :) The flight from Toronto to Taipei is 16 hours minus 10 min. or something. Good luck at your blood test and have a fun shop.

How envious I am of your trip to the Garden Centre Linda!!!! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! I'm going to miss my birds and squirrels big time.

Enjoy your day Karen. Sounds like it's going to be a busy one!

I vote brownies Michelle! :) Hope you do manage to salvage the corned beef.

My girlfriend messaged me and invited me for lunch so I have to get the kitchen cleaned up and head out. Think I'll pick up a couple of steaks at the grocery store to BBQ for dinner tonight.

Made pizza for lunch using the Forgotten Pizza Dough recipe ... Did not like it at all. The texture was very odd for me. DH didn't like it either. The dough was hard to work with too, hard to roll and to get it to stay without shrinking back.
    Forgot The Dough Pizza Dough

Heading out to the garden center in about an hour ... looking forward to seeing what they have. They specialize in native plants to Florida so hopefully will find something that will grow well.

    Hi Michelle and Linda.
Company has gone so I can breathe again and catch up on stuff. Laundry included.
Joce, can you change ODD to private? Just wondering.

Have fun Linda. A shame you didn't care for the dough.

Back from lunch. We went to an Italian street food place that I'd never been to before
    https://www.viacibo.com/main-menu/
I had the POLLO ALLA GRIGLIA PIADINA. an Italian flatbread that contained
Chicken, Spinach, Provolone, Tomato, Pancetta, Spicy Pesto Aioli. It was awesome. My girlfriend had a pizza, goat cheese and chicken. The pizzas would totally serve two for lunch. They have a gorgeous wood burning pizza oven there. I may bring Jim back there tomorrow as we're thinking of going out to a movie.

Wow, what a great menu Janet! What ever the picture is on the Entrée tab looks wonderful. I would have a hard time choosing as everything looks great and I love Italian! Maybe the sausage and broccolini pasta for me today.

Well the plant nursery I wanted to go to was a bust. It didn't even exist. We drove the road it was on (and the road isn't that long), if I did miss it then it must be really bad because nothing looked like the website. Everything on the entire road looked like a dried up industrial complex. I'll have to call, but very misleading. We went to Home Depot and didn't see anything there and then onto Lowes and I got two flats of Mexican Heather (20 small containers). I'll plant it in the back garden bed and figure out the front another day.

The flowers on my Mexican Heather are purple.

It’s gotten dark and ugly. Dark clouds, thunder, and looks like the sky wants to open up and pour rain. My raccoons will have to wait till tomorrow for dinner. I don’t like to put scraps out if it’s going to rain ☔️.

The restaurant smelled awesome when we walked in. I'll totally go back. What a shame about the plant nursery Linda. So weird!!!! And then a shame that you couldn't find any good plants anywhere else. The Heather is beautiful!

Well, I got the house cleaned which is great, and I changed over to spring decorations. I've got a baked potato in the oven which I'll turn into a twice baked potato to go with the steak. Also have an avocado and some cherry tomatoes that I can cut up as a veg.

    Went for a hot tub.

I bet the restaurant did smell amazing. All that red sauce and Italian herb smell wafting thru the air ... yum! Now you have me wanting Italian.
There were lots of plants at Home Depot and Lowe’s but I want low maintenance ground cover and something in the perennial family so I do limit myself. I’m not into keeping up with gardening. I want to plant it and forget it. Maybe if I was one of those people who were talented with plants I’d do more.
Happy you enjoyed your steak dinner ... what cut did you make?
