kid's sick

  • mrtnzangel8 16 years ago
Sorry guys, I know no one wants to hear about the details, let's just say, she can't keep anything down all nite long.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what would be soothing to her stomach that won't make it worse?

Sorry she doesn't feel well Ang,
We alway had 7-up, Squirt or Ginger Ale, ginger is supposed to be really good for upset stomachs.
Food: popsicles or milk toast. My sister and I would make macaroni with a little bit of butter, milk, and salt and pepper.
I hope she gets feeling better.

I keep asking her if she wants anything. She says no. Saltines were always my favorite when it comes to upset tummy.

Remember when you were pregnant, they would tell you 7-up and crackers, I hear they tell you orange juice and potato chips now, I think that sounds horrible.

Sorry to hear that your daughter's not feeling well....

If you can't get her to eat anything -- and even if you can -- water is ultra-important right now. If nothing is staying down, she will dehydrate in no time. And, once you start to get dehydrated, headaches, dizziness....everything else gets accentuated...

    Water. Then, more water....

I sure hope your daughter is feeling better by now! In future, try flat ginger ale, flat cola, water, gatorade -- but whatever you try, make sure it's at room temperature and in *small* quantities, like 1-2 tablespoons every half-hour. Kukla is right about watching for dehydration, especially in small children.

Agreed on the ginger...I would go to the natural foods stores and get crystalized ginger or ginger beer when I was pg with my 2nd.... And the flat sodas are good too. Also, try to avoid salts....if you use saltine crackers, get the low sodium ones...the salts dehydrate pretty badly (which is why I never understood the sodium in gatorade...?) I sure hope she's feeling better by now! It's been a while! but that's the beauty of this group/post. I'm pg with my 4th and am loving the nausea cures. :) Thanks guys!
