I think that the crockpot may take a long time but it cooks without any help.I have always love to walk in and find dinner to serve.Yes some recipes are better suited than others for crocks. But you cant beat them.

I love my crockpot, too! It's a real help to me to have supper ready when I get home some nights. What I love about my crockpot is that I can put roast, beef tips, or any other meat in frozen, and it will be done and brown when I get home! My Mom always browns her meat first, but I don't. Not necessary with my crockpot. Mine pot also comes off the base on goes onto the stovetop, so I can stir some water and cornstarch together, and pour it in on top of the whole meal, and boil a couple of minutes on the stove top and have thickened sauce/gravy if needed.

Only prob with the crock pot is... If I am home.. it makes me so dang hungry smelling it all day... For real.. I find myself snacking.. I think it is Bean who has a pulled pork recipe U put on the night before... My God.. I was up looking for food! Other than that.. I love my crock pot.. I have a oval Rival...

Mine is a Rival Slow Cooker. It's kind of a rectanagle shape. I love it!

Thanks! I have an older Rival. I think it's defective because every time I cook a roast in it, the roast turns out tougher than, well....my leather purse. I was going to say a shoe, but that analogy grosses me out. :)

I just joined this site and browsing around here and there and found you all. Love my crockpot and want to find more ways to cook with it. So figured I'd join this group and see what pops up. All I know is I'm so glad I found group recipes online- perfect!
Have a good evening. Off to cook some artichokes for dinner- unfortunately can't do in crockpot, or can you?
