Ok I confess I was wrong about the person lowballing me. I caught barbiemensher in the act. I have only 2 gawkers on one of my recipes, one of them me! and I had a 1 rating. Yes that other person is barbiemensher, not even in my friends list, they are not! So why me. Well I may not be the only one. Check your gawkers. People who lowball you do not show up under fans, they just stay in the gawkers list. And yes on EVERY ONE of my lowballed recipes barbiemensher is there in the gawkers. If I had not caught they red handed I would not have known. But now I want the whole site to know who and what they are!!! They need to get a life and leave people alone!!! I do not like rude people and that is what lowballers are RUDE!!!!

I ask because if it's only the wiccan recipes, then she is probably voicing her honest opinion on those particular posts instead of just lowballing just to be lowballing, which, of course is what the ratings system is for. I do not believe that she is voicing an honest opinion-the keyword being voicing? They do not say anything. They hit a button. ALL of my recipes are no good?

I do not think that any rituals should be on a recipe site-or how to shave my legs or save a bottle. But I do not lowball them.

But look at what T and so many do? She accused 'equalizer on many peoples pages. Now she says oh no it's someone else

I just read suggestions and it seems like no matter who does the low-balling, someone knows exactly who it is. They say they know the troll. OK, speak up, who is it?
Let us all in on this big secret, please.

We should have a group called DISCUSSIONS and if we love this site, as I do; then we should fight for it and make it safe ourselves and make SURE of our words.

To me, receiveing a low rating is not neccessarily the same as being "lowballed". I consider "lowballing" the act of rating recipes low just for the heck of it, or to be unkind to someone you don't care for. The ratings system is in place, and sometimes people feel they have a good reason for rating something less than a 5. I personally don't rate anything that I cannot rate a 5, because if it does not appeal to me, then I can't really give it a fair rate.

I do not pretend to know the why or the who of all the lowballing. That has been going on for at least two years. There was a top foodie who was friends with all, that was lowballed along with the rest of them. She was found to have told several lies and falsely played on sympathies. She fell from favor. Since then, everyone has decided she is the lowballer. I don't agree, not her style to target, only to defend herself. She was involved in a ratings war that she didn't start after she fell from favor, but, I know nothing about it. It had nothing to do with the big fiasco. I was reminding Judy about the less known crazy...who only targets the one that all used to like. Wouldn't be the first time she created an aka and did things knowing they would all think it was the one they used to like, and fasley get mad at her. And no, I'm not naming names. She doesn't target others.

Sorry VR, I just can't pretend to know what's up with your situation. It's been going on a very long time. When I first joined, it was blamed on kids. LOL Now they blame her. I think there is probably more than one culprit with more than one reason. Hard for me to imagine the vast amount of time someone would spend with multiple accounts and lowballing so many recipes...good lord...that's just so sad.

I understand a low rating once in a while, but lowballing is what was happening to me. I feel it has backed off now a bit. I do belive the phase "If you can not say anything nice, do not say any thing at all" applies. If I do not like a recipe, I just leave its page. I have no need or desire to drop anyones rating. I think it would be wrong.

I can deal with people slamming me for things I do but I did not low-ball all of the recipes she accused me of. I am clearly not alone in rating non-edible recipes badly.
I know I started this mess. I am sorry I ever posted my first message which instigated the dialogue with Tuilelaith. My mistake was in telling her that I didn’t think non-food stuffs should be posted here. I, in fact, WAS trying to tell her what to do and I was wrong. I see that now. But I did not use inappropriate language or insinuations in my messages to her. She cannot say the same. In fact, I find it most convenient that she posted my message (of which I still stand by, btw, and which you can read in her other post with my name in the header in this Group) but failed to include the replies she plastered on my wall, some of the highlights including her inferring that I am too ugly for any God to love, or referring to me as sub-human or thoroughly creeping me out by stating that if she wanted to be tactful with me she would marry me! (yeah, that one had me laughing my *ss off for 10 minutes, followed by a thorough head scratching and a severe case of the heebie-jeebies)

Tuilelaith’s argument is that the site should have all sorts of recipes, not just edible ones. Ok, then why is it that we are asked what kind of FOODIE we are when we register? And why do 99.9% of the members post food recipes? And how is The Wiccan Rede a recipe. In her original post she wrote:
“I look all over for this all of the time. So I am putting it out here to be found when ever I want it!!!”
This site is already bursting at the seams. I can’t imagine what we would all have to wade through if everybody posted things on this site because they had nowhere else to put it. And btw, I Googled “The Wiccan Rede” and it took me straight to wicca.com where it is easily displayed. So why did it need to be posted here as well? I said before, it is valuable information - beautiful, in fact - but I don't see why it should take up space on this site. I am entitled to my opinion, am I not? And is the rating system not there to allow us to "sort" the good recipes from the ones we feel are less worthy of our attention?
I’ve kept all of the thread in it’s entirety. Again, I know I started it but I stand by what I said. I do believe that we should all be allowed to enjoy the site as we deem fit and if that means that some people bog it down with poetry and tips and medical advise and the like, so be it. But as I told Tuilelaith, I will not be bullied or harassed or told what I can and cannot do on this site anymore than she or others will be. Everybody is free to post what they like as I am equally free to rate them as I see fit.

Who says the site is bogged down. do you know the owners of the site, are the complaining. Are you their right hand man, so to speak!!!
