RIP Michael Jackson

  • greekgirrrl 14 years ago
For me, Michael Jackson's passing has been rough. It's not only that he was a stellar entertainer and was taken too soon but also that I grew up WITH him and manymanymany of my growing up experiences have a MJ song attached to them. It's also made me look at my own mortality in a way I never have before.

I never expected that MJ would ever die, I guess...I know that's silly but it somehow felt just like that to me.

Lots of hugs I send you and it is a complete shock to me, as well. I loved him so much and am grieving.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and keep playing the music.
    You are not alone.....Susie

No, it's not silly. I feel the same way. I couldn't believe it. I think if you just play his music and let yourself grieve, it's a process....He was a very strong spirit and I went to his house here in Holmby Hills and also Encino and left flowes and notes and all that.....I truly felt a loss and am very sad about his passing as you can tell.
I never thought he would die, also...and he went out too soon and I feel so terrible about it.
I wonder where he is now and where he will be buried. It seems very secretive at this point.
Anyway, I find playing the music helps.

    My best to you.
    With love.

Thanks Susie...you're so right about playing his music....it DOES help. So much of it is upbeat that it's hard to feel down.
His commemoration at Staples Center was very beautiful, I thought. It was great to see how strongly he influenced so many people of his own generation and those who came after him, too. Brooke Shields's speech brought tears to my eyes. She is such a lovely woman.

I thought she was terrific and I too cried. She is a lovely woman.

They opened the street in the valley here in LA where his parents live...Hayvenhurst Drive.

Thank you so much for your comments and please have the best weekend.

And also you are right...his music is so upbeat it's hard to feel down so please just keep the music playing.......
And you are wonderful, too!!!! Best, Susie
