I selected "German" from the pull-down menu, but in fact, Wallsé is *Austrian* cuisine, which is *much* lighter and more subtly flavored. Because this little gem is just two blocks from my place I have had the pleasure of many amazing meals here. It is always wonderful. The atmosphere is not at all pretentious--it almost has the feel of a neighborhood bistro--while still being a classy place for a special occasion. Excellent wine list, and all Austrian, so I let them choose the wines, and have never been disappointed. The Wiener Schnitzel is the stuff of legend, as is their famous dessert, the Salzburger Nockerl with huckleberries, a lighter-than-air soufflé-like confection. Everything on the menu is fantastic, and there is enough variety to please everyone. It's not cheap, but I think it's impossible to have a bad meal at Wallsé.
