Chili Dog Nachos Recipe
This recipe is a cross between nachos and chili dogs and it comes courtesy of Rachel Ray of the Food Network.

Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 lb ground sirloin
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 2 hot dogs, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 8 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1 bag of yellow corn tortilla chips
  • 10 oz shredded yellow cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream, Salsa, and chopped scallions for garnish

Directions
  1. Heat a medium skillet over high heat.
  2. Add the oil and then the beef and begin to brown and crumble with a wooden spoon, about 2 minutes.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  4. Add sliced hot dogs and continue browning another 3 minutes.
  5. Add onion, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, and cumin.
  6. Cook another 3 to 5 minutes.
  7. Add tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes more.
  8. Arrange corn chips in a casserole dish.
  9. Top the chips with the cooked chili dog topping.
  10. Cover the sauce layer with cheese.
  11. Place casserole under the broiler for 2 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Garnish with sour cream, salsa, and chopped scallions.
  13. *The chili dog topping can be made the day before and then assembled when ready to serve.

My grandson age 13 wants this for him and his buddy's on game night.. which is Friday.. I read it to him and his mouth was watering. LOL
