Party Size One Bowl Chocolate Cake

Can't remember if I posted this before , but it is so good and easy and flexiable. May be made into layers or a oblong cake. Ingredients
- Cake: shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 c oil shopping list
- 1 c Hot tap water ( or brewed coffee for a mocha flavor ) shopping list
- 2 c sugar shopping list
- 2 c flour shopping list
- 1 c baking cocoa shopping list
- 2 ts baking soda shopping list
- 1 c sour milk ( or buttermilk ) shopping list
- ( to make sour milk: add 2 tsp vinegar to Sweet milk (whole milk ) and let thicken 5 minutes ) shopping list
- whipped cream shopping list
- Mocha whipped cream Topping shopping list
- ( which may be used for any cake or dessert - not a buttercream but can easily be made into one by adding butter!) shopping list
- 3 cups chilled heavy cream shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup sifted baking cocoa shopping list
- 2 tsp. rum shopping list
- 2 tsp. instant coffee powder shopping list
How to make it
- This is so easy and tastes wonderful!
- In a large bowl simply mix all together (either by hand mixing or electric mixer medium speed ) just until well combined.
- Pour batter (it will be a bit thin ) into a large 9 x13 or 10 x 14 pan pan.
- Bake 350F , 45 minutes OR until tested done.
- Remove pan to rack to cool completely.
- Top cold cake with a whipped cream frosting or mocha type frosting which is great with this moist chocolate cake.
- There are many versions of this sour milk cake but our family enjoys this one the best!
- This cake tastes best the day after being baked and freezes very well.
- Note: may be baked in round layer cake pans ( baking time will decrease ) and filled and frosted as desired.
- Serves 12 to 24 !

I like the fact that it freezes well. I think I will make one and freeze one in January, for two different birthday cakes. YUMMY!!
