Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground black angus beef or ground chuck
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt-or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper-or to taste
  • 3 large hamburger buns
  • 1/2 stick butter-salted or unsalted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 sweet yellow onion
  • 1 large ripe tomato
  • crisp lettuce leaves
  • 6 strips bacon-fried crisp(optional)
  • 3 thick slices smoked cheddar or smoked gouda cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonaise

Directions
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Divide meat into thirds and pat out into three patties. Make them as thick or as thin as you like. Let patties rest for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Grill or fry patties until they reach desired doneness.
  4. Melt butter then stir in garlic powder.
  5. Brush butter mixture onto buns.
  6. Toast until buttered sides are golden brown.
  7. Slice onion and tomato as thick as you like.
  8. Spread mayonaise on top and bottom halves of buns.
  9. Place a lettuce leaf on bottom bun half.
  10. Place beef patty on top of lettuce leaf.
  11. Place a slice of cheese on top of patty.
  12. Place two strips of bacon on top of cheese.
  13. Add a slice of onion and tomato.
  14. Put on top bun half.
  15. Repeat until all burgers are assembled.
  16. Serve with fries, baked beans, potato salad, or whatever you like.
  17. Suggestion(s):
  18. Slather on a little mustard, bbq sauce, ketchup, or whatever condiments you like.
  19. Enjoy!
