How to make it

  • Chill the steaks
  • mix salt and cornstarch together
  • Pat steaks dry with paper towel and rub in salt and cornstarch mixture
  • Arrange steaks on a wire rack placed on a baking sheet
  • FREEZE STEAKS, 30 minutes up to 1 hour
  • Grill steaks right from the freezer
  • Season with pepper
  • Grill covered over a hot fire until they are well browned and cooked, about 4 to 8 minutes per side
  • Transfer to a plate
  • Tent with foil
  • let rest 5 minutes before serving
  • Optional steak sauce: ( just like the bottled classic kind )
  • Combine raisins in the boiling water and let sit 5 minutes until fully plumped
  • Puree raisin mixture with remaining ingredients and blend until smooth
  • Season with salt and pepper
  • Makes 1 1/4 cups of steak sauce
  • Note: raisins may seem unusual but add just enough sweetness to the sauce

I'm definitely going to try this. I guess with the crust, you can add herbs and spices as you wish.
