Ingredients
  • Eggs of course
  • Salt
  • Large pot
  • Ice cubes
  • Bowl

Directions
  1. If possible set eggs out for an hour before cooking. If there is not time, place eggs in cold water.
  2. Place enough water in the pan to cover the eggs with at least one inch of warm water.
  3. Place eggs in water.
  4. Pour in at least 1 tablespoon salt.
  5. Turn heat to high and bring water to a boil, gently stirring eggs with a wood spoon to help center the yolk. Another recommend idea is to turn the eggs over in the carton when setting them out to center the yolk. I have tried this and not turning and hard to tell the difference.
  6. Boil a maximum of 2 minutes, stirring gently.
  7. Turn heat off leaving pot on the burner. No further boiling is necessary. Hard cooking is what forms the grey on the yolk.
  8. Set timer for 12 minutes.
  9. At the 12 minute mark, place eggs in a bowl of water filled with ice cubes.
  10. Once cooled you can roll the egg around on the counter cracking all the shell and then peel under running water.
  11. Cut in half and see perfect yellow yolks no grey, no yolk., smile.
  12. I have posted Addictive Deviled Eggs, simply delicious.

I think it would work

Actually it does work.

I quit using water long ago, i now use a electric steamer and put them in for whatever minute it take and there is not a rotton eggs in the brunch (no pun intended) it solve my problem with the eggs and yes it take longer to cook them, but knowing i won't have to worry when i crack a eggs and finding it not done is priceless to me
some can do it this way and some my way, i think alot have to do if you happen to lives upstair or downstairs, but this will help others

As indicated, this recipe is 100% right on. Eggs are always cooked perfect, over 400 eggs cooked this way, always look like the picture. Seems easy to understand. And it only takes 14 minutes, couldn't be easier and is fail proof.

This is how I make my eggs-always delightfully yellow and sooo easy to crack & peel.

Thanks, I usually am in a hurry, and just throw them in boiling water when making egg salad. Now I will try this way for perfect hardboiled eggs! ^5!!

Great tip! I will definitely use this method from now on. Five from me. By the way, how are the demos going?
