How to make it

  • Melt 2 tbs butter in 10 inch skillet and sautre apples over medium heat
  • Remove apples from skillet
  • In same skillet with remaining butter and brown sugar cook and stir over med heat until butter melts
  • Bring to boiling
  • Remove pan from heat
  • Stir in milk
  • sprinkle with pecans and cranberries
  • Arrange apple slices on top
  • In a bowl combine flour ,sugar, baking powder and salt
  • In a medium bowl combine cornmeal, water the 1/4 cup butter
  • Stir in eggs and vanilla
  • Stir in flour mixture just to combine
  • Pour batter over apples
  • Bake in a preheated 350 F oven about 30 mins or toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
  • cool in pan 10 mnins and invert on plate to serve
