How to make it

  • In a sauce pan, heat oil.
  • Add chickpeas and spices.
  • Cook until chickpeas turn golden.
  • Add tomatoes with juice and simmer 5 minutes.
  • Cook pasta according to directions.
  • Add broccoli 2 minutes before pasta is done.
  • Drain, but reserve 2/3 cup of the cooking liquid.
  • Return pasta & broccoli to pot.
  • Add chickpea mixture and cooking water.
  • Serve with grated cheese.
