BABY SHOWER SUGAR COOKIES

To celebrate the pitter-patter of tiny feet ( or any occasion ) , crisp buttery sugar cookies are a hit. This recipe is adapted from the magazine Taste of Home from 2000.
Ingredients
- Ingredients: shopping list
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened shopping list
- 1 ½ cups sugar shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract shopping list
- ½ tsp. almond extract shopping list
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar shopping list
- Pink and Blue decorator's sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven at 375.
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg and extracts; mix well. Combine flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Shape into a ball. Chill for 1-2 hours. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8 -inch thickness; cut into small hands and feet or desired shapes. Place on a greased baking sheets. Sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake at 375 for 6 – 8 minutes or until edges are light brown. Coll on wire racks.
