Ingredients
  • Salt Peter (from a drug store)
  • VERY warm water
  • Blotter Paper (you can use Construction paper instead)
  • Various tinctures (for scent) (NOT essential oils)

Directions
  1. Cut the paper into strips about 1 inch by 6 inches.
  2. Dissolve 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt peter in 1/2 a cup of very very warm water.
  3. Now soak the strips in there until they are saturated.
  4. Hang them up to dry, or if you are in a hurry, you can drape them over the racks in your oven and turn it on a low heat until they are dry.
  5. Once the strips are dry you have 2 options: You can leave them as they are and use them in place of those messy little charcoals or you can scent them.
  6. First, write on the paper the magick you wish to occur, or the wish you have in mind.
  7. To use them as charcoals, just light the paper, and sprinkle a THIN layer of herbs or powdered incense blends over the paper. Use herbs that are appropriate to the magick being done. The paper will smolder the herbs just like the charcoal does...just be sure to sprinkle the herbs over it in a THIN layer or it will go out.
  8. Or to scent them yourself you will want to take tinctures and coat the paper with it and then let it dry again. If the scent is a delicate one, you may want to soak it again after it dries the first time. Smell it after it dries, and if it still smells like paper, it needs another dip.
  9. Store them in airtight baggies or jars, and they are ready when you are!

Keep them coming!!! Loving them!

We burn "A Lot" of incense. Our favorite is Lama Chodpa, 100% natural, and made entirely by hand by Tibetan Monks according to thier handed down recipes/techniques. This sounds very interesting, and I will enjoy playing with this, and trying it for myself. I am making Karlyn255's Covenstead Bread to serve tomarrow with Tarawvu's Creamy Mushroom Chicken Noodle Soup, and a freash green salad. Thought that would be an interesting combo for a supper, on a cool evening. Thanks for the post.
