Simple Protein Rice

- 2 Cups water shopping list
- 3/4 Cup long grain rice (That cooks in 15 minutes) shopping list
- 1/4 Cup Soy beans shopping list
- Pinch salt shopping list
- garlic powder shopping list
- basil (Use whatever seasoning you feel like. I had a basil kind of day when I made this) shopping list
How to make it
- Pour Water, Rice, Beans, Salt, Garlic Powder & Basil into Water & bring to a boil.
- Stir so it doesn't stick to bottom of pot & burn.
- When Water boils, stir, cover pot & turn heat down.
- I checked on it @ 10 minutes & stirred it as I'd never made this before.
- At 15 minutes, I took the lid off, tasted it & let it cook for another 2-3 minutes to get rid of the excess water.
- The Soy Beans were perfectly al dente & the rice was yummy & both were full of flavor.
- I had mine with grilled chicken & Dill Carrots.
- Today, I cut up the leftover chicken & threw everything else (the Rice, Soy Beans & Carrots) into a cast iron skillet with a little Olive Oil.
- I should have sauted some onions first & then added everything else.
- Had to share as it was just too easy & too good not to.
