Savory Turkey Brine Recipe

Delicious brine for turkey or chicken. I have used it on pork. Will brine up to a 24 lb. turkey.

Ingredients
- 2 gallons cold water
- 10 oz. soy sauce
- 1/2 c kosher salt
- 1/2 c sugar
- 2 Tbs dried sage
- 2 Tbs dried celery seed
- 1 Tbs dried thyme
Directions
- The night before roasting,remove giblets and turkey neck; rinse turkey inside and out.
- In large stock pot or 5 gal bucket mix water with remaining ingredients. Stir well till salt is dissolved.
- Place turkey in the pot,cover with lid and refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours. Remove turkey from the brine,rinsing well. Follow regular cooking instructions.
