Cherry Chip Cream Soda Cake

This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Margolis Estate in Austin Texas in 1991.
Ingredients
- 1 box cherry chip cake mix shopping list
- 1 can red cream soda shopping list
- Frosting: shopping list
- 1 small container frozen whipped topping thawed shopping list
- 1 small box cherry gelatin shopping list
How to make it
- Combine cake mix according to package directions substituting soda for water.
- Bake in a rectangular baking pan according to package directions.
- Combine whipped topping and gelatin and mix well.
- Cool cake completely then spread topping over cake and serve.
