Old Fashioned Cream Of Tomato Soup

My favorite soup for a cold winter night. My grown daughter calls me every winter for the recipe. (You would think she would write it down by now!)
Ingredients
- 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained shopping list
- 1 cup chicken broth shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine shopping list
- 2 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chopped onion shopping list
- 2 cups heavy cream (I use half & half) shopping list
How to make it
- In crockpot, combine the first 5 ingredients. Add the cream just before serving and warm just until heated through otherwise it might curdle.
