CURTIDO El Salvadoran cabbage salad

- cabbage shredded 1/2 head shopping list
- carrot peeled, grated 1 each shopping list
- water boiling 4 cups shopping list
- scallions minced 3 each shopping list
- vinegar, white 1/2 cup shopping list
- water 1/2 cup shopping list
- oregano, fresh or dried minced or crumbled 2 T or 2 t shopping list
- crushed red pepper flakes 1 t shopping list
How to make it
- Place cabbage and carrots in a large bowl.
- cover with boiling water and let set for 5 minutes.
- Drain well.
- Mix with the rest of the ingredients and chill.
- VARIATIONS
- A pinch of sugar and a little oil can be added to the salad if you like.
- Serve atop of Pupusas
