Cinnamon Apple Salsa

- For Chips: shopping list
- 1/4 C. butter, melted (or veggie oil) shopping list
- 1 - 24 pk small flour or corn tortillas, cut into chip shapped pieces shopping list
- 1/2 C. sugar shopping list
- 2 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
- For Salsa: shopping list
- 1/4 C. butter shopping list
- 1 C. walnuts shopping list
- 6 tart granny smith apples, peeled, cored and chopped into bite sized pieces shopping list
- 1/4 C. raisins shopping list
- 1/2 C. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 C. water shopping list
How to make it
- For Salsa:
- In large saucepan over med-high heat, melt butter and saute walnuts for aprox 3 min.
- Reduce heat to med low. Add apples, raisins, sugar, cinnamon, & water; stir to mix thoroughly. Cover and simmer for aprox 15-20 min, gently stirring occasionally. You want apples to be cooked but still maintaining their shape.
- For Chips:
- While apples are simmering, set broiler to med-hi.
- Place cut-up tortillas on cookie sheet. With pastry brush, brush a light coating of melted butter (or vegetable oil) on each chip.
- In small bowl mix together sugar & cinnamon. Sprinkle small ammount of mixture on each chip.
- Put chips under broiler until slightly browned.
