Manhattin Clam Chowder My Way

- 2 small cans about 7 oz. chopped clams shopping list
- 4 slices bacon shopping list
- 1 can diced tomatoes about 13 oz. shopping list
- 2 carrots diced shopping list
- 1 medium onion chopped shopping list
- 3 stalks celery,diced. shopping list
- 1 teaspoon thyme shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 3 medium potatoes diced. shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- Wondra Flour to thicken. shopping list
How to make it
- Cook bacon in soup pot till crisp.
- Remove all fat except about 1 tablespoon.
- Drain bacon,set aside.
- Saute onion and celery till softened,in bacon drippings.
- Add carrots, saute till partly done.
- Add clams and tomatoes.
- Add Thyme and stir all together.
- Add extra water and potatoes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste
- Cover and simmer till potatoes are softened.
- Crumble bacon and add to soup.
- Mix in Wondra flour till chowder consistancy,about 1 tablespoon.
- Serve with rolls or crackers.
