Ingredients
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 1/4 cups fine dry breadcrumbs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup onion, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup liquid honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

Directions
  1. Combine meat, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, eggs, salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix well with a fork to thoroughly distribute ingredients. Shape mixture into 1" balls. Place in a single layer on a rimmed cookie sheet.
  2. Bake at 500F for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not overcook! Drain well.
  3. Melt butter in a large saucepan and gently saute garlic cloves until tender. Add ketchup, honey and soy sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add meatballs to sauce. Return to boiling and immediately reduce heat to a gentle simmer. Continue cooking, uncovered, for 5 to 10 minutes, until meatballs are glazed and sauce is slightly thickened.
  5. Serve warm from a chafing dish with toothpicks.
